  • Homes should first & foremost be places for people to live. When homes are used just for short stays, it reduces the number of places available for people who need long-term housing, whether to rent or buy. With support from @Housing, Infrastructure and Communities Canada | Logement, Infrastructures et Collectivités Canada Short-Term Rental Enforcement Fund, we’re stepping up enforcement of our Short-Term Rental By-law to help protect Mississauga’s long-term housing supply. • Strengthening Mississauga’s Academic Partnerships On October 22, we had the honour of welcoming Professor Melanie Woodin, the newly installed 17th President of the University of Toronto at Council. This marked her first public appearance in Peel Region since assuming office on July. President Woodin joined Council to provide an update on the City’s partnership with UTM. Over the past two years, this collaboration has: • Supported 19 joint initiatives to support our City • Secured nearly $200,000 in research grants • Enabled 2,600 student hours through experiential learning From transit improvements shaped by student advocacy, to innovation driven by ICUBE and IDEA Mississauga, and even research tackling ecological and supporting infrastructure—this partnership is helping shape the future of our city. 📺 Watch the presentation here: https://lnkd.in/g3zmck4S 🔗 Learn more about the partnership with UTM: https://bit.ly/4pcE1Vz

  • The City of Mississauga is proud to be a local partner for Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation's (CMHC) Housing Design Catalogue. This innovative initiative provides free, standardized home design plans to help smaller and mid-size builders build housing quickly and save money.
