Snow is expected across Toronto this weekend. Here’s what you need to know: 👉 Warming Centres are open. Walk-ins welcome. 👉 To help prevent slippery conditions, salt brine was applied to expressways, hills, bridges, and key intersections Friday overnight. 👉 Salting of roads, sidewalks, and bike lanes will start when snow sticks. Sidewalk plows will go out when 2 cm of snow accumulates. Be sure to: ✅ Clear sidewalks next to your property when snow falls to reduce the chance of slips and falls. ✅ Stay back from crews at work. ✅ Take it slow when travelling, allow extra time, and consider public transit. ✅ Contact 311 online or through the 311 mobile app for service requests. Today, we celebrate the start of construction for a new mixed-use community in Scarborough 🎉 This development, which is strategically located near the Kennedy GO and TTC Station, will deliver a total of 612 new homes, including affordable and market rent-controlled co-operative units. We want to extend our gratitude to our project partners, including CreateTO and the Co-operative Housing Federation of Toronto. Together, we’re building the largest new co-op housing in Canada in a generation. 2444 Eglinton Avenue E. will also support the City’s climate action objective as we continue towards achieving net-zero by 2040. This development will be powered by a geothermal energy system and is being delivered under the One Planet Living Framework – a first in Toronto! Shopping for deals on Black Friday? Shop with purpose! 💙 It’s the perfect time to #LoveLocal 🍁 and support Canadian businesses. Toronto is home to a vibrant network of clothing and textile manufacturers that help shape the city’s thriving design economy. Among them is @miikinc — a woman-owned, women-powered clothing brand rooted in Etobicoke. Their sustainably sourced, comfortable pieces reflect the dedication shared across many local makers who craft high-quality apparel right here in the city. 🌍 Every dollar spent on local business strengthens our community, supports jobs, and keeps local craftsmanship thriving. This Black Friday and holiday season, look beyond the usual deals and explore the many local designers, studios, and boutiques that make Toronto unique. 🍁 With over 24,000 designers, Toronto has the largest design workforce in Canada and the third largest in North America. If you’re looking for unique gifts or locally designed pieces, you can also explore Shop Toronto Design, where all listed stores carry at least 50% locally designed products: https://lnkd.in/e3hj5KSc
