We’re deeply saddened by the wildfires that have devastated Los Angeles and the surrounding areas. Our hearts are with the residents who have been impacted by this unimaginable disaster. Los Angeles is home to an amazing community of Turo hosts and guests, and so to support the broader Los Angeles community, we’re: -Donating $50,000 to World Central Kitchen, a trusted nonprofit that to date has mobilized to 50 locations across Los Angeles and has distributed over 180,000 free meals to first responders and families impacted by the wildfires. -Providing $100 off Turo bookings to LA residents to help those impacted get access to vehicles as they start to rebuild. -Inviting our employees and our community to contribute whatever they’re able to World Central Kitchen through the link ➡️ https://lnkd.in/g_3J-chP
It is with a heavy heart that we confirm that yesterday morning’s horrific attack in New Orleans and yesterday’s Tesla Cybertruck explosion in Las Vegas both involved vehicles rented on Turo. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families. Our trust and safety team is actively partnering with law enforcement authorities to share any information that could be helpful in their investigations. We do not believe that either renter had a criminal background that would have identified them as a security threat, and we are not currently aware of any information that indicates the two incidents are related. Turo is dedicated to fostering a trustworthy marketplace. We remain committed to maintaining the highest standards in risk management, thanks to our world-class trust and safety technologies and teams that include experienced former law enforcement professionals. We are devastated by these horrible incidents, and remain dedicated to helping the authorities however we can.
