I am so honored to receive the Voice of Care Award from the Caregiver Action Network, and it feels especially meaningful during National Family Caregivers Month. Being a caregiver isn’t a title most people claim, yet so many quietly step into that role every day: • An adult child supporting aging parents • A spouse navigating illness • A friend walking with someone through mental health or addiction • A parent caring for a child with complex needs Caregivers often don’t see themselves as caregivers. They just show up because someone they love needs them. And they carry so much — physically, emotionally, financially — often without recognition or rest. Thank you to CAN for this honor and for the free resources, support, and community you provide to families across the country. Your work truly changes lives. And to every caregiver reading this: I see you. Your strength is real. Your story matters. You don’t have to walk this road alone my friends. Alzheimer's disease affects millions of American families, yet too many face barriers to early detection and timely care. The Alzheimer’s Screening and Prevention (ASAP) Act represents a critical breakthrough in addressing this challenge. This bipartisan legislation would give Medicare the ability to cover routine dementia blood test screening – revolutionary technology that can detect Alzheimer's years before symptoms appear. Unlike traditional detection methods, these blood-based tests offer a less invasive, more accessible pathway to early detection. For families facing Alzheimer's, early detection means more time to plan, access treatments, and make informed decisions about care. The #ASAPAct ensures these life-changing tools can reach the Medicare beneficiaries who need them most. We thank Senator Susan M Collins, Catherine Cortez Masto for Senate, Senator Shelly Moore Capito, U.S. Senator Mark Warner, and Representatives Vern Buchanan and Paul Tonko for their leadership on this transformative legislation and urge our leaders in Congress to support this bill: https://lnkd.in/eu5FQCmx

For over 30 years Caregiver Action Network has supported caregivers with no cost support, services and resources. During that time we are grown and done more and more with sometimes less and less. This year, for the first time, we are asking that anyone and everyone that understands the strength and resilience of caregivers; anyone and everyone that knows that caregivers are irreplaceable; anyone and everyone that has lived a better life because of a caregiver; and the millions of individuals that have engaged with #PlugInToCare throughout #NationalFamilyCaregiversMonth we ask that you support our work to support those that give care. How you can help? Support our #GivingTuesday social media campaign using our free social media kit: https://lnkd.in/e2AW5pEr Ask your employer to encourage staff support CAN on #GivingTuesday and consider providing a matching gift for anyone that gives to support #FamilyCaregivers using our corporate social media kit: https://lnkd.in/efbShRQ8 More to come and if you want to donate early and often you can support #Caregivers right now! Nearly 1 in 4 adults in the U.S. is a caregiver, meaning you or someone you love is juggling work, family caregiving, and their own health. On December 2, #GivingTuesday, we’re inviting our community to give back to those who give so much. If you’re a caregiver, we won’t ask more from you. One of the most powerful ways you can help is by sharing our Giving Tuesday link with friends, coworkers, or organizations who want to support caregivers: 🔗 https://lnkd.in/exAt3nQ8 Every share – and every gift – helps us ensure caregivers don’t have to do this alone. ---------------------------------- This Giving Tuesday, every donation to Caregiver Action Network will help support Nomo Smart Care™'s program to provide eligible qualifying caregivers with a Nomo Smart Care Essential Care Kit + a 30-day free trial - a $199.99 value, available only while supplies last. ---------------------------------- #GivingTuesday2025 #familycaregiver
