  • What we learned from the ‘Turning up the Heat: London Boroughs’ Role in Shaping the Heat Transition’ event? Our latest London Borough Knowledge Exchange event in October brought together officers from across London to explore the challenges and opportunities in district heating. From funding gaps to cross-borough collaboration and stakeholder engagement, the discussions highlighted how boroughs can drive practical, low-carbon solutions for their communities. 📄 Read our summary article, which captures the key insights from the day’s sessions, roundtables, and the perspectives shared by participants across boroughs and industry experts. It provides a clear snapshot of the current state of district heating across London authorities. https://lnkd.in/eWD_zaFz 🎥 Enjoy the highlight video below - see the day in action and hear attendees’ reflections. Still processing a powerful few days at the RebuildUkraine Conference in Warsaw and truly impressed by the scale and energy of the event. The venue was absolutely buzzing with variety of attendees from over 800 companies and 40 countries engaging deeply in driving progress, despite ongoing attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. Key reflections: ⚡ Resilience and action now. Businesses are not waiting for “after the war.” Renewable energy projects are being built and deals are being signed today. ⚡ Energy as independence. A secure, modern, renewable energy system remains central to Ukraine’s long-term sovereignty. ⚡ Real momentum. Strong progress on EU legislative alignment and clear signals of international and EU support. ⚡ Capital is available. Investors are actively engaging and adapting financing models to Ukraine’s realities. Personally, it was inspiring to reconnect with former colleagues and contacts – now representing KPMG, EBRD, private equity funds, and energy companies, and to see their continued contribution to Ukraine’s economic growth. I’m leaving the conference confident that Ukraine is rebuilding in real time, with global partners and a shared commitment to a sustainable, competitive energy future. #standwithUkraine #EnergyTransition

  • Important update from our Associate Director, Viet Nguyen regarding the ongoing consultation on Renewable Obligation and Feed-in Tariffs indexation. Get in touch if you want to discuss the impact of the potential changes and check how exposed your assets might be. At Amberside Advisors, we’re helping clients do exactly that - assessing the impact, testing sensitivities, and identifying upside opportunities. #Renewables #FinancialModelling #Infrastructure #Valuation #EnergyTransition #AmbersideAdvisors

RO/FIT Indexation Consultation – One to Watch 👀 The government’s consultation on Renewables Obligation (RO) and FiT indexation might sound like a small technical tweak - but for many renewables projects and their owners, it could have a real impact on revenues and valuations. For assets like solar, wind, hydro, AD and biomass, ROCs or FiTs are often a major revenue stream. Any reduction in indexation flows straight through to lower income - and potentially tighter banking ratios or lower asset value. It’s easy to treat this as just an input change in your model, but the key is the analysis that follows: understanding what it means for project returns, RPI hedging arrangements, valuation and banking headroom and where you might be able to recover or unlock value elsewhere. At Amberside Advisors, we’re helping clients do exactly that - assessing the impact, testing sensitivities, and identifying upside opportunities. Worth checking how exposed your assets might be. 🔗 Check out the consultation: https://lnkd.in/eD5_Fw3x #Renewables #FinancialModelling #Infrastructure #Valuation #EnergyTransition #AmbersideAdvisors

  • At this year’s Green Gas Day 2025, one message came through loud and clear - biomethane isn’t waiting for the future; it’s ready now. Now it’s about turning that readiness into action - through clear policy, investment confidence, and sound financial advice. In his latest article, Viet Nguyen, Associate Director at Amberside Advisors, broke down why biomethane is emerging as the UK’s most scalable decarbonisation tool - and what investors need to know. From planning bottlenecks and feedstock potential to the growing transport and carbon-removal opportunities shaping the next phase of the market - we’ve pulled out some of the key insights which you can explore below 👇 🔗 Read Viet’s full article here: https://lnkd.in/gDX_qZwe #GreenGasDay #Biomethane #EnergyTransition #NetZero #Decarbonisation #Investment #CCUS #AnaerobicDigestion #GreenGasTaskforce
