Great discussion at the McDonald's Impact Summit this week on how we can strengthen supply chains in a world that’s changing faster than ever. McDonald’s is in a unique position to convene so many different stakeholders across the food system—Franchises, Suppliers and McDonald’s, all working together to move the industry forward. One theme stood out clearly: resilience comes from both the farm and the network. Our farmers are facing real climate pressure… shorter growing windows, intense heat, flooding—all of which affect yield and reliability. That’s why McCain Foods is investing heavily in #RegenerativeAgriculture practices that make farms more stable and productive over time. Equally important is our ability to remain flexible. With a truly global production footprint, we can shift quickly, navigate regional challenges, and continue operating as a trusted, reliable partner for our customers. This flexibility is a real differentiator for McCain, and its core to how we show up for partners when it counts. Stronger farms and a more agile network: together, that’s how we build a resilient, future-ready food system. Thank you, McDonald's, for bringing us together. #McDonaldsImpactSummit Beth Hart, McDonald's, Brian Covington, Lopez Dorada, Scott Harrison, The Coca-Cola Company, Kelsey Freeman Saelens, Cargill, Andrew York, Tyson Foods, Elizabeth Horvath, Kerry.

Everyday Leadership at McCain: Safety, Quality & Customer Focus Over the past week, I had the opportunity to visit McCain Foods' manufacturing facilities in Othello, WA, Burley, ID, and Coaldale, AB, with our CEO, Max Koeune - it was nothing short of inspiring. Each stop offered a clear reminder of what sets McCain apart: our people. Every day, dedicated teams strive for excellence in safety, quality, and innovation. Customer obsession at McCain is more than talk; it's action, visible in the choices our people make each day. Seeing this level of care and forward-thinking reinforces my belief that leadership is found at every level, especially where our world-famous French fries and shareable snacks are made. At each plant visit, I witnessed team members thoughtfully solving problems, taking pride in making delicious food, and challenging the status quo for the better. From adopting AI to train new joiners, embracing the notion that a zero-accident safety record IS possible, to partnering closely with customers to make their vision of quality innovations a reality. These experiences made it clear: customer obsession can be an everyday practice, woven into decisions large and small at any McCain facility, in any role. Thank you to the Othello, Burley, and Coaldale teams for showing what’s possible when we put customers at the center of everything we do. #WeAreMcCain #PeopleFirst #Safety #ZeroIncidents #Innovation #Quality #DigitalTransformation #McCainProud

It is that exciting time in the journey of McCain Foods' Farm of the Future Canada where you can start expecting to see the co-creation and synergistic potential of academic and industry minds! Our partnership with the incredible scientists at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada/ Agriculture et Agroalimentaire Canada is moving from the field to the peer-reviewed page, ensuring sound and actionable insights for the business and our grower partners. I'm thrilled to share this fantastic new paper by lead author David Andres Ramirez Gonzalez and dear colleague, Athyna Cambouris. Their research demonstrates how we can use precision agriculture to create smarter, more sustainable management zones in our potato fields. Congrats to the entire team on this important milestone! 🔗 Read the full open-access study here: https://lnkd.in/eAsiabmS

I’m happy to share our new research published in Remote Sensing (MDPI) 🎉 A big thank you to my co-authors and supervisors Karem Chokmani, Athyna Cambouris, and Michelle Lynn D'Souza, PhD for their support. 📌 Title: Delineation of Management Zones Based on the Agricultural Potential Concept for Potato Production Using Optical Satellite Images 💡 Why it matters: Traditional management zone (MZ) delineation often requires intensive soil sampling and specialized equipment, making precision agriculture costly and hard to scale. Our study proposes a multi-year, multi-sensor NDVI composite approach (Sentinel-2 & Landsat 8) to efficiently map spatial and temporal variability in potato fields at farm scale. This offers a cost-effective way to understand agricultural potential over large areas. 🌱 Implications: Using freely available satellite data, our method can reduce reliance on expensive soil sampling, enabling more sustainable, data-driven, and regenerative management strategies. Growers can optimize inputs, boost productivity, and improve long-term soil health at both field and farm scales. 📖 Lire l’article : https://lnkd.in/eV8cuHJf #Research, #PrecisionAgriculture, #RemoteSensing, #PotatoProduction #INRS, #AAFC

Delighted to have had the opportunity to visit the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, UK last week to learn about how the Estate is putting sustainable farming principles into practice. It was inspiring to see the amazing work underway through conservation management and land stewardship. This farm visit was also part of the “Routes to Regen” program, created through His Majesty’s Sustainable Markets Initiative Agribusiness Hub. McCain has had the honour of Chairing the Routes to Regen program over the past year, which has piloted a new model, aiming to simplify the incentives and support for farmers looking to make the transition to regenerative farming in the East of England. We took the opportunity to discuss the first year of activity and receive valuable input from members. Thank you to The Royal Countryside Fund, Ceres Rural and Tor Harris MVO for being excellent delivery and project partners, Edward Parsons and Ted Holmes for hosting us and guiding us around the Estate, and to the farmers who attended—your feedback is instrumental to our collective success. We look forward to continuing to work together with partners across food and finance to further refine the model for collaboration and scale. McCain Foods has entered into an agreement to acquire Penobscot McCrum, LLC, one of North America’s premier suppliers of frozen potato specialty products and family-owned business with a proud legacy in Maine. This strengthens McCain’s North American footprint and builds momentum in the region. The transaction includes McCrum’s state-of-the-art processing facility in Washburn, which complements our nearby Easton plant—supporting local employment and regional supply resilience. The American Northeast is a key agricultural hub, and McCrum’s deep roots in Maine, provide a strong foundation to support farmers and bring more Maine-grown potatoes to tables across the country. Together, we’ll continue delivering the high-quality delicious products and foods families love. #WeAreMcCain
