Now in its third year, the Reaching Across the Causeway (RAC) Symposium brought together researchers from the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine (SVM) and the University of California, Davis - School of Medicine (SOM) for a day of collaboration, presentations, and connection. Hosted this year by #UCDavisVetMed, the event showcased the power of “cross-causeway” partnerships to accelerate impactful science. The RAC program is a joint funding initiative led by the SVM Associate Dean of Research and the SOM Vice Dean for Research, with support from the UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center and the UC Davis Clinical and Translational Science Center. Its goal: to leverage the unique strength of having two world-class health sciences schools just 20 miles apart. “By bridging disciplines and schools, this program aims to address today’s most complex scientific challenges through collaborative, team-based science,” said Associate Dean of Research Danika Bannasch. “It’s gratifying to see the impact this program is starting to have.” https://lnkd.in/gdTKbGjX
