About us

Strava is Swedish for “strive,” which epitomizes who we are and what we do. We’re a passionate and committed team, unified by our mission to connect athletes to what motivates them and help them find their personal best. And with billions of activity uploads from all over the world, we have a humbling and audacious vision: to be the record of the world’s athletic activities and the technology that makes every effort count. Strava builds software that makes the best part of our athletes’ days even better. And just as we’re deeply committed to unlocking their potential, we’re dedicated to providing a world-class, inclusive workplace where our employees can grow and thrive, too. We’re backed by Sequoia Capital, Madrone Partners and Jackson Square Ventures, and we’re expanding in order to exceed the needs of our growing community of global athletes. Our culture reflects our community – we are continuously striving to hire and engage diverse teammates from all backgrounds, experiences and perspectives because we know we are a stronger team together. When you’re ready for a challenge and a team that will support you along the way, join us!

Movement plays a powerful role in supporting both physical health and mental wellbeing, and that's why our Public Policy team, led by Debs Schrimmer and Natasha Ahmed-Walsh, recently convened events in both the US and the UK. Strava brought together experts from across civil society, academia, technology and health to explore how technology should be designed and used in a way to actively improve physical health and wellbeing. Key learnings included: 👥 Creating a community with genuine connections and a shared goal is a critical part of how a platform can address loneliness in society and support wellbeing. 🧠 When thoughtfully designed, technology can support people to form healthier habits and routines - using movement as a pathway to improved wellbeing and mental health. We’re excited to continue working with experts to ensure Strava remains a place that supports your wellbeing, and will continue  to engage with partners who are aligned with this mission. Big thanks to our San Francisco partners and UK partners for joining!

One year in our Global HQ 🧡 🏢   A year ago, we moved into our new global headquarters in San Francisco. Yesterday, we celebrated the team that shows up here every day to build for the 180 million athletes in our global community and bring Strava's mission to life. Strava 🧡's the NYC Marathon. The 2025 TCS NYC Marathon set a record for the largest marathon in history. Each of the 59,226 finishers made it a day to remember, one marathon at a time. We’re giving our kudos to every finisher and especially the team of Strava employees who contributed to this year’s epic race. Team Strava made our cheer zone electric, organized pre-race events, showed on-the-ground support for our athletes on race-day, and designed a campaign to inspire anyone that becoming a marathoner can happen one run at a time. Then there were the 14 employees that put in months of training and ran all 26.2 miles. Strava loves New York City, and it shows. Huge kudos to: Jade Bordenave, Jessica F., Rosamaría G., Mike Kasberg, Terence Nixdorf, Yvan R., Shelby Rhodes, Kate Shaughnessy, Roland Stoll, Alyssa Carrasco, Brandon White, Victoria Salova, Marlee Montella and Casey Temanson.
