  • Our CEO, Svanika Balasubramanian, recently joined the Boundary Breakers Podcast (hosted by Brandon Ansley) discussing how brands can rethink product design and consumption. Brands that create opportunities for products to be reused, refilled and built to last aren’t just helping the planet, they’re building smarter, more resilient businesses. With Black Friday around the corner, it’s the perfect moment for brands to rethink value. Growth isn’t only about selling more, it’s about building products and systems that last, reduce waste, and strengthen customer trust. Watch the full conversation at the link in comments! 👇

  • Final Episode of unPack of 2025! The first year of multi-state EPR is officially in the books. California's November baseline is submitted. Oregon and Colorado programs are running. And we can finally talk about what actually happened. Join rePurpose Global and the Circular Action Alliance (CAA) for an honest conversation about Year One and planning for EPR in 2026: ✅ What tripped brands up during data collection and classification ✅ Surprising findings from the baseline submissions ✅ Companies that nailed cross-department collaboration and what they did differently ✅ How to think about eco-modulation guidance when making your 2026 packaging decisions ✅ Planning EPR reporting for new states as Minnesota, Washington, Maine, and Maryland launch their programs We’re unPacking it all. You can expect an honest conversation about what worked and what the industry learned the hard way (with some spicy takes and humor baked in).💯 Register at the link in comments! 👇

  • Most brands only publish impact reports when the numbers look good. Patagonia just did the opposite, and it’s exactly what the industry needs. Their newest ‘Work in Progress’ impact report rejects the corporate sustainability format. At 154 pages, it’s thorough, witty, and refreshingly human with handwritten notes, crossed-out edits, and unfiltered reflections. Most importantly, Patagonia doesn’t tiptoe around its shortcomings. They state clearly (and repeatedly) that they did not meet many of the goals they set for themselves. And they published it anyway. This level of honesty is rare and urgently needed. At rePurpose, we’ve always believed sustainability isn’t defined by perfect metrics; it’s defined by how willing brands are to look directly at their gaps and take responsibility for them. Patagonia shows that transparency isn’t a threat to credibility. It helps build it. What matters isn’t claiming to be sustainable, it’s owning the work that’s still ahead. We hope this moment encourages more companies to rethink how they communicate impact: 👏 Not by painting over the messy parts. 👏 Not by hiding behind jargon or selective disclosures. 👏 But by sharing the full picture: wins, failures, and everything in between. Because when leaders acknowledge where they fell short, they shift the entire ecosystem toward honesty. And that honesty is what drives real change, innovation, and accountability. Patagonia’s approach raises an important question for all of us working in sustainability: 👉 What would our industry look like if more brands shared their “work in progress,” not just their finished narratives? • Some companies are starting EPR compliance from scratch in all 7+ states. But there’s a smarter way. EPR looks like a confusing patchwork of state-by-state regulations. But they all pull from the same underlying data. Do it right once, and each new state is easy. Do it wrong, and you’re duplicating work across 7+ states. In our latest unPack: Measure Better webinar, Lowell Huffman (from rePurpose Global) and Savanah Van Citters (from Circular Action Alliance) break down exactly what 2026 EPR fees mean, and how to use data to manage costs while improving packaging recyclability. What you’ll learn: → Which states are invoicing and when → How fees are calculated and how they differ by state → Early fee guidance in California → How to estimate your fees by state → Key actions packaging directors should take now Watch the session and see how getting your data foundation right once sets you up for every state that follows. Last week at the Crafting Powerful Brands Summit – From Challenger to Champion, rePurpose had the privilege of joining an inspiring conversation on what it takes to build brands that truly connect. Our very own Svanika Balasubramanian shared the stage with Meriel' Peterich, Director of Social Marketing at Freshpet, in a fireside chat moderated by Joseph Pagano from TransUnion. They explored how brands that lead with purpose can build authentic connections with consumers — and turn that trust into measurable growth. With 75+ brand leaders in the room, the discussion was full of actionable insights and real-world examples of embedding purpose into every touchpoint without compromising performance. We’re proud to see purpose-driven storytelling shaping the future of brand marketing! 🌱

Welcome to Project Nuevo Ciclo — one of our impact projects in Medellín, built in partnership with Botellas de amor Fundación. Together, we’re transforming low-value plastic through a community-driven model that starts with “bottles of love” and ends with recycled plastic lumber used to build classrooms, playgrounds, and community spaces. This is all possible thanks to our brand partners, whose commitment to funding verified plastic recovery makes projects like this possible. A new beginning for plastic, and for the communities leading the change. 🌎

  • ‼️ November 15, 2025 California EPR Reporting Deadline ‼️ The worst part about EPR compliance isn't the first state. It's the second. And third. And fourth. Because most companies approach each state like a standalone project: → Oregon: Build spreadsheet, wrangle data, classify materials, submit → Colorado: Start over. New spreadsheet. New data pulls. New classification logic → California: Start over again. But now with 95 categories and component tracking Three states = three sets of spreadsheets, three rounds of supplier outreach, three reconciliation processes. Scattered data systems force you to reinvent the wheel every time a new law passes. Here's the smarter approach: Build your packaging data foundation once. Use it across all states. When you centralize packaging data—material specs, weights, supplier info, sales by state—you never start from scratch again. We've worked with 500+ brands to build this foundation. One data architecture. All states covered. Our new California EPR Guide walks through: 📅 California EPR Timelines — Know exactly what’s due and when. 🧾 Compliance Made Simple — Understand what makes your brand liable, who’s exempt, and how to choose the right reporting option. 📦 California’s 95 Packaging Categories — Learn how to classify and structure your data correctly. ⚠️ What’s Different About California — The key rules and red flags every brand should know before filing. Last Month, Andreas and Anne traveled more than 11,000 kilometers from Denmark to Bandung, Indonesia, to visit our clean up mission in partnership with rePurpose Global. On the ground, they witnessed firsthand how each umbrella rental is helping transform plastic waste into meaningful, lasting impact for the local communities and for our environment. We’re sharing a just a quick glimpse of their trip with the full video to follow soon. 🥰

  • Compliance used to take brands weeks of manual work and thousands in consulting fees. Now, companies are saving time, money, and effort with rePurpose Global. Just ask the brands doing it differently: ⭐️ True Botanicals: “They stepped in with the tools and insights we needed—saving weeks of work.” ⭐️ Earth Animal | B Corp: “rePurpose was a game-changer. We gained a deeper understanding of our packaging data.” ⭐️ Tillamook County Creamery Association: “The partnership paid for itself.” ($100K savings) ⏳ November 15th is less than 2 weeks away. If you're still compiling data manually, there's a better way! Talk to our team or download our free California compliance guide first: Link in comments. 👇

Every umbrella rental helps remove the equivalent of six plastic bottles, or 113.6 grams of plastic waste, from the coast of Indonesia. Last month, our CEO Andreas and Head of Customer Success Anne visited our plastic recovery site in Bandung, Indonesia, through our partnership with rePurpose Global. During the visit, Anne asked to see what that amount of plastic actually looks like. Expecting it to fit in her hands, it's surprising to see just how much 113.6 grams of plastic really looks like!
