"It’s the epitome of a customer-driven approach.” Ecosystem Exchanges are founded on two core beliefs: Climate innovation thrives when bold ideas meet supportive ecosystems. And no city or country can do it alone. This spirit was at the heart of our week with Woodside Energy and Equinor, where we hosted seven Australian and Norwegian startups at Houston Energy and Climate Startup Week this year to forge key relationships in the U.S. market through through pitches, curated meetings, panels, and networking. Some topline outcomes include: 👉 Founders individually reported being able to meet individually with more than 10 global energy and industrial corporations 👉 One signed customer agreement during the week 👉 Private pitch events with Woodside Energy and Equinor teams 👉 Pitching and participating in one of the biggest startups competitions in the country, the Rice Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship Energy Tech Venture Forum 👉 Intimate expert discussions hosted by Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade), Innovation Norway and Greentown 👉 And lasting international relationships formed during a tour of NASA, an Astros game, and a sailing trip that will continue to grow and evolve Check out a full recap of this #EcosystemExchange and how this model can act as a case study in international market expansion: https://lnkd.in/eaEa_XRt 🇳🇴 Norwegian startups: Installer.com, renasys, Glint Solar, and Hive Autonomy 🇦🇺 Australian startups: PHNXX, SpiroPak, and SeaStock 💚 Greentown member companies participating: EarthEn (Powered by Grid8), Active Surfaces, NONA Technologies, Capwell Services Manon Chappat-Alarcón Chloe Rose

#C2VInitiative Year 5 Cohort announced! 📣 Meet Arbon Corp, Cella, ICODOS, Lite-1, Mission Zero Technologies, Octavia Carbon, RUSHNU, Sora Fuel, Turnover Labs, and Universal Matter Inc.! This year's accelerator received 165 applications from 33 countries, ranging from #DAC to carbon-to-fuels to removal via ocean alkalinization. Meet the ten who were chosen: 🔸 ARBON: a humidity-swing carbon-capture solution, capturing CO₂ from the air or point-source without heat or pressure. 🔸 Cella Mineral Storage: a subsurface-mineralization technology with integrated software, enabling new ways to sequester CO₂ underground. 🔸 ICODOS: transforms emissions into value through a point-source carbon capture and methanol synthesis process in a single, modularized system. 🔸 Lite-1: advanced biomanufacturing processes to produce circular colourants for use in food, cosmetics, and textiles. 🔸 Mission Zero Technologies: an electrified, direct-air carbon capture solution that employs both liquid-adsorption and electrochemical technologies. 🔸 Octavia Carbon: a solid-adsorption-based, direct-air carbon capture solution that utilizes geothermal heat. 🔸 RUSHNU: point-source carbon capture integrated with chemical production, turning salt and CO₂ into chlorine-based chemicals and minerals. 🔸 Sora Fuel: integrates direct-air capture with direct conversion of the captured carbon into syngas for production of sustainable aviation fuel. 🔸 Turnover Labs: modular electrolyzers that transform raw, industrial CO₂ emissions into chemical building blocks, without capture or purification. 🔸 Universal Matter Inc.: a Flash Joule Heating process that converts carbon waste such as end-of-life plastics, tires, or industrial waste into graphene. These #startups will work closely with the Carbontech Leadership Council, an invitation-only group of corporate and nonprofit leaders, to advance their commercialization efforts and de-risk their innovations. 👉 Read the full announcement: https://lnkd.in/e6DsMjEc 📆 Meet the cohort at the kickoff event on Dec. 4: https://luma.com/80ysln9o Urban Future Lab Fraunhofer USA Inc. Two Cities. One Mission. A Thousand Selfies! 💚 Reflections from the Climatetech Summit Last week we wrapped Greentown Labs’s annual #Climatetech Summit across #Boston and #Houston — and I’m still feeling the momentum. 💚 Two incredible cities. Two different worlds. Both beautiful. Boston greeted us with crisp fall air; Houston with November sunshine and warmth. And together they reminded me: Two things can be different, and both be true. Boston and Houston. Energy and climate. Innovation and scale. Startups and industry. That’s the power of AND— where possibility expands. Quick wins: 1400+ attendees across both sites; 30+ new startups welcomed in Houston; 35 new startups in Somerville; six Series A raises in the last six months (~$75M); part of a community that’s created 16K+ jobs across 600+ Greentown companies!!! 💚 Gratitude & Highlights Entrepreneurs first. We opened both Summits with founders—because their voice belongs at the center of everything we do. Huge thanks to Shiv Bhakta ☀️ in Boston and Chris Buckner in Houston for MCing with heart and purpose. Keynotes that inspired action. In Boston, Secretary Eric Paley challenged us to think bigger about Massachusetts’ role in building an innovation economy that works for everyone. Krishna Jonnalagadda from GE Vernova showed what reinvention looks like for a century-old industrial leader. And in Houston, Mayor John Whitmire underscored the city’s commitment to climate and energy innovation, while John Arnold reminded us that progress requires clear-eyed collaboration—pairing U.S. innovation with scaling strength as cleaner tech accelerates, and emphasizing that affordability ultimately drives adoption. A new generation of builders. Thank you Ben Soltoff and the team behind Disciplined Entrepreneurship for Climate & Energy Ventures—and co-authors Bill Aulet, Tod Hynes, Francis O'Sullivan, and Libby Wayman—for showcasing founders tackling hard and important problems! A MUST-BUY FOR ANY ENERGY AND CLIMATE INNOVATOR! Our partners and sponsors. SO grateful to our Champion sponsor GE Vernova and Scott Strazik (three years running!), along with so many others shaping this ecosystem—listed in the first comment. To every startup who pitched, showcased, or simply showed up: you are AWESOME and the reason we’re here. And to our teams in Boston + Houston—thank you for pouring your hearts into this. You should be SO proud. 🌎 What I carry forward --> Across roles, cities, and sectors, this (our!) community shares a belief: That prosperity for people and the planet is not an either/or. We can continue to drive human progress + protect our planet. Collaboration beats competition. Innovation is a team sport. Together, we’re building the Green Corridor that connects ideas to impact—from Boston and Houston to every corner of climatetech. Onward. 💚. #GreentownLabs #Climatetech #EnergyTransition #InnovationIsATeamSport #PowerOfAND
