#founders, please be thoughtful when you sell your initial SAFEs or Notes. If you sell them with $10mm+ caps to inexperienced or unknowing investors, you are going to put yourself in a bad position. Many VCs are not going to agree to $10mm caps when you are pre-revenue or even modest post-revenue. We have recently passed on some nice opportunities due to early-round pricing mistakes. This is bad for everyone, especially the founder. Look at public market multiples and don't price as if you're an SV, West Coast AI startup. Look at the reality of your region and revenue comps at $1mm ARR to get a sense for how long it will take you to grow into your proposed valuation.
