As the Ashes series begins in Australia this week, inbound tourism is set to spike with Australia’s travel and tourism sector projected to contribute A$314 billion in 2025, according to the World Travel and Tourism Council. Domestic travel remains strong across the country, with 57% of locals saying they’re planning to take a trip in the next 12 months. Inbound tourism numbers are just as strong, travellers from India and the UK are on the rise with over 40,000 England cricket fans expected to travel for the Ashes test this year. 🏏🏖️ Asokan S., our retail director for Australia and New Zealand, said: “With international visitors surging into Australia, reliable and trusted travel money services have never been more important. Today is International Men’s Day (IMD), and our colleagues joined a panel of Travelex experts who shared their personal and professional experiences, discussing topics from masculinity and fatherhood to mental health and more. IMD is an opportunity to raise awareness of men’s health, wellbeing and celebrate positive role models. 💙 Across November, our colleagues are taking part in a variety of activities including: 🔹 Joining in on Travelex’s Grow a Mo competition, supporting Movember to help raise awareness on men’s health issues. 🔹 Sharing a male Travelex team mate, leader or peer who inspires them. 🔹 Reading about champions of change, accessing L&D resources and sharing personal blogs on the topic of Celebrating Boys and Men for IMD. “Banknotes aren’t going away.” said Adam Kettle ACMA, CGMA, our Wholesale Banknote Director for UK and Africa in an interview with Business a.m. 💵 📢 Adam explored the recovery of Nigeria’s foreign exchange market, the opportunities in a diversified currency landscape as well as the logistical and regulatory environment. Travelex supplies physical currencies to over 22 African markets, making Africa our largest regional client base for cash movement. “Our logistics network, we can get money into Africa quickly. Retail expansion, however, is always possible if the right opportunity arises — particularly in airports, where inbound tourism is growing,” Kettle said. Throughout October, we’ve celebrated two of our DE&I flagship events – Black History Month (BHM) and World Mental Health Day (WMHD).
