Climb the Three Peaks in the Everest

Three Peak Climbing in Nepal takes you to the summit of the highest trekking peaks in Nepal, such as Mera Peak, Island Peak, and Lobuche Peakin the Everest Region. This thrilling venture is an ultimate combination of technical climbing, trekking, and mountaineering experience of a lifetime.

Climbing Mera Peak,Island Peak, and Lobuche Peak in Nepal offers the ultimate Himalayan adventure for thrill-seekers and aspiring mountaineers. These three iconic “trekking peaks” (all above 6,000 meters) each present a unique challenge and breathtaking rewards.

From standing atop Nepal’s highest trekking peak to scaling a steep ice wall in the Everest region, you’ll experience adrenaline-pumping climbs, panoramic views of the world’s tallest mountains, and the rich culture of the Sherpa heartland. Best of all, you don’t have to be a veteran climber – with the right preparation and expert guidance, Mera, Island, or Lobuche Peak could be your first Himalayan summit.

Mera Peak Climbing

Mera Peak climbing is regarded as the Highest Trekking Peak of Nepal, which takes you to an altitude of 6476 meters without any technical sections. Though this peak is the easiest among the three-peak climbing in Nepal, all you need is an excellent level of fitness and strong determination to summit the peak. The Mera Peak climb delivers stunning views of Makalu, Cho Oyu,Kanchenjunga, and several other neighbouring peaks.

Island Peak climbing

Climbing Island Peak is perhaps the most technical of the three peak climbs in Nepal. It is also known as Imja Tse, which reaches an altitude of 6189 metres. The Island Peak climb offers both trekking and technical climbing experiences. Moreover, the highlight of this climb is the west face, which rises from the Lhotse Glacier, and the heavily glaciated mountain views from the summit. When climbers choose to undertake this peak, it is often combined with Island Peak Climbing with EBC.

Lobuche Peak Climbing

Another challenging and technical trekking peak in Nepal is Lobuche Peak Climbingat 6119 meters. The Lobuche Peak climb requires advanced climbing techniques to navigate the summit's technical sections. Climbers must know how to use the ice axe, ropes, crampons, etc., to navigate the steep ice walls before reaching the summit of the Lobuche. Though Lobuche Peak is challenging, the views from the top are equally rewarding.

Who can do the Three Peak Climbing in Nepal?

The Three Peak Climbing is an ultimate adventure that involves three 6000-meter peaks, including the challenging Ambhu Labtcha Pass at 5850 meters.  So, the question is, who can do the Three Peak Climbing in Nepal?

This adventure is ideal for those who want to test their mountaineering skill from the easiest trekking peak, Mera, to the technical Lobuche Peak climb. Moreover, if you are preparing for the 7000-meter climb like the Himlung Himal Expedition, then doing these three peaks is perfect for the preparation.

Additionally, the Three Peak Expedition in Nepal needs strong commitment and physical effort to complete the 6000-meter peaks within 20-25 Days. Those who have high altitude trekking experience above 5000 meters can complete this trip. Also, basic mountaineering skills are so important for the Island Peak climb and the Lobuche Peak climb. If you have those skills and can adapt to the high-altitude trekking, this trip is best for you.

Mera vs. Island vs. Lobuche – Which Peak Should You Climb First?

With three amazing peaks to choose from, you might be wondering which one is right for you. The answer depends on your goals, experience, and what kind of adventure you seek. Here’s a quick comparison to help you decide (and remember, you can’t go wrong – each of these climbs is incredible in its own way!):

If you’re a novice climber or trekker aiming for your first 6000m summit, start with Mera Peak. It’s the highest of the three, but the least technical. Mera offers a big altitude achievement with lower risk – perfect to test how you handle extreme altitude while building basic climbing skills. The solitude and raw beauty of the Hinku Valley are bonuses for those who love wilderness. Many climbers use Mera as a stepping stone; once you’ve done Mera, you’ll have the confidence to tackle the others.

If you want a classic Everest region experience with a mix of trekking and climbing, choose Island Peak. It combines the famous EBC trek with an exciting climb that has a bit of everything – glacier travel, a big ice headwall, and a sharp ridge. Island Peak is slightly more technical than Mera, but still very much achievable for fit beginners, especially with a good guide. It’s an excellent choice if you want that taste of mountaineering plus the comfort of knowing many have done it before as their first climb.

If you crave a challenge and have either prior experience or a firm determination, go for Lobuche Peak Climbing. As the hardest of the three, Lobuche will push you the most, which also means it’s the most rewarding for many. Ideally, do Lobuche after you’ve done one of the other peaks or at least some winter alpine training. That said, if you’re up for it, Lobuche could be your first climb too (with the understanding you’ll work hard!). You’ll get to stand face-to-face with Everest and truly earn your Himalayan climber badge. Overland Trek Nepal can provide extra practice sessions if Lobuche is your first – we ensure you’re prepared for those fixed ropes and steep ascents.

Today is about rest, adjusting to altitude, and preparing mentally for high-altitude trekking and climbing in the Everest and Hinku regions.

A short, thrilling flight lands you at Lukla. After a tea stop, we leave the busy EBC trail and follow a quieter path toward Chhutang, the gateway to the Hinku Valley and Mera Peak climbing. Trail conditions: mixed stone steps and forest tracks, occasionally slippery after rain. Porters set a steady pace to help acclimatisation. You’ll see pine and rhododendron forests, mani walls, and distant snow ridges. Hydrate well, keep layers handy, and protect your knees on stone stairs. This first trekking day sets the rhythm for our multi-peak expedition. Overnight stay at Chutanga.

The day begins after breakfast around 6:30. We ascend steeply through dwarf juniper to the Zatrwa La Pass, the key link into the Hinku side. Trail conditions: sustained uphill on rocky, sometimes windy switchbacks; snow or ice possible in shoulder seasons. From the pass, enjoy sweeping views of Numbur, Kongde, and distant summits. We descend carefully to Tuli Kharka, a seasonal herder settlement. Today is a milestone for acclimatisation; take short breaks and maintain a slow, efficient pace. Tonight’s lodge is basic but cosy. This stage firmly places us on the classic Mera Peak approach for our Three Peaks itinerary. Overnight stay at Thulikharka.

Wake up and have breakfast around 6:30, and begin the day right after. The path contours high above the Hinku Khola, undulating through forests and open ridges. Trail conditions: narrow sections, occasional exposed corners, and stone steps; trekking poles help on descents. As we drop toward Kothe, the air feels richer and the valley widens. Look for Mera Peak’s triple summits peeking over glaciated walls. The day is long but varied, perfect for steady acclimatisation. Kothe has a few lodges and a tranquil river setting, ideal for recovery, gear airing, and photography.

After breakfast, around 6:30 in the morning. We follow the Hinku upstream toward Thangnak, a classic acclimatisation stop on Mera Peak climbing itineraries. Trail conditions: mostly gentle gradients along sandy and moraine paths, with some rocky sections. The valley turns stark and alpine, with lines of prayer flags and grazing yaks. Views sharpen—serac bands and icefalls are now near. Hydrate well and walk at a conversation pace. Thangnak has teahouses, a bakery in season, and solar charging. Evenings are cold; keep warm layers accessible. This is a great place to review crevasse safety and glacier travel basics. Overnight stay at Thaknag.

Highlights:

  • Short but high-altitude day
  • Walk through the Lateral Moraine Ridge.

Leaving Thangnak after breakfast around 6:30, a steady climb takes us to Khare, the main staging point for Mera Peak summit. Trail conditions: rocky moraine, occasional scree, and short, steep pulls; it can be windy. The views are inspiring—Mera’s north face and the glacier ramp dominate the skyline. We arrive by midday to rest and snack. In the afternoon, we check equipment: harness fit, jumar operation, crampon adjustment, and headlamp setup for summit day. Tonight is key for warmth, nutrition, and sleep. Overnight stay at Khare.

Max Altitude: 5,000m. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & DinnerAccommodation: TeahouseDistance: 3-4hrs

Highlights:

  • Pre-climb training with the rope
  • Fixed rope and jumar refresher
  • Short acclimatisation hike around Khare Village.
  • Final gear tune-up

Today will be a rest day as well as a training day before Mera Peak climbing. We focus on ice/snow skills near Khare: walking in crampons, self-arrest basics, and moving on a fixed line. A short hike to a nearby ridge boosts acclimatisation without overexertion. Trail conditions on the practice slope: firm snow or crunchy ice, variable by season. Guides re-check your layering system and summit pack (snacks, thermos, spare gloves, buff). This is our last full prep before moving to Mera High Camp. Stay hydrated, eat well, and rest—tomorrow we head higher. Overnight stay at Khare.

Max Altitude: 5000 m. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & DinnerAccommodation: TeahouseDistance: 2-3 hrs

Highlights:

  • First Step onto Mera Glacier
  • High camp with world-class views
  • Spectacular views of the Sunset over the 8000ers in the distance

Now the real adventure among the Three Peaks climbing begins today. We rope up and step onto the Mera Glacier, ascending gradually to High Camp. Trail conditions: snow ramp with low to moderate angle; crevasse zones are navigated roped and cautiously. High Camp sits on a rocky outcrop with breathtaking vistas—Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Baruntse on a clear evening. We dine early, melt snow for water, and settle into sleeping bags. This is a true expedition moment in our Three Peaks Nepal journey. Early lights out for a pre-dawn start. Overnight stay at Camping.

Max Altitude: 5,700m. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & DinnerAccommodation: Tent CampDistance: 3-4hrs

Highlights:

  • First summit of the Three Peaks in Everest, Mera Peak at 6476 meters.
  • Enjoy the views of the peaks over 8000 meters.
  • Safe descent back to the Hinku side
  • Remote camp at Kongma Dingma

We will start early, around 1-2 am, to do the summit. A pre-dawn start on crisp snow leads us steadily upward. The final summit dome may require a short fixed line, depending on conditions. Trail conditions: cold, breezy, and exposed; firm snow early, softer later; crampons mandatory. From the top of Mera Peak, the views are unforgettable: Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Kangchenjunga on the horizon. Take some time to click the photos and celebrate the first achievement of the Mera Peak climbing. We descend carefully to High Camp, then continue down and contour toward Kongma Dingma, a quiet valley camp. This big day is the heart of Mera Peak climbing in the Three Peaks itinerary—pace, hydration, and sun protection are vital. Overnight stay at Kongma Dingma.

Max Altitude: 4,850m. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & DinnerAccommodation: Simple Mountain CampDistance: 10-11hrs

Highlights:

  • Acclimatisation at Kognma Dingma and enjoy the remote camping

We give the body a full day to recover after the Mera summit. Gentle walks around camp, laundry, and plenty of warm drinks help us bounce back. Guides brief the next technical section toward Amphu Labcha Pass, which links Hinku to the Imja Valley. Trail conditions ahead: glacial moraine, scree, and potential snow—helmets and careful footwork recommended. A restful day now increases safety for the upcoming technical traverse toward Island Peak.

Max Altitude: 4,850M. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & DinnerAccommodation: Remote Mountain campingDistance: 1-2hrs

Highlights:

  • Wild and high-alpine basins
  • Seto Pokhari (White Lake)
  • Enjoy the amazing views of Horizona.
  • The trail is like a true expedition experience.

After breakfast around 6:30 in the morning, the Three Peak climbing in Nepal continues to Seto Pokharari. We move through remote high basins to Seto Pokhari, a shimmering alpine lake tucked beneath rugged walls. Trail conditions: off-the-beaten-path, with mixed rocky ground, occasional snow patches, and braided streams—gaiters help. The landscape is raw and elemental, with glacial light and silence. This is classic Three Peaks in Nepal terrain—isolated, scenic, and demanding. We camp or lodge (depending on season), watching alpenglow paint the surrounding ridges. Overnight stay at Seto Pokhari.

Max Altitude: 5,035m. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & DinnerAccommodation: Remote Mountain campingDistance: 5-6hrs

Highlights:

  • Close to Amphu Labcha Pass
  • Technical terrain ahead
  • Crevasse awareness refresh
  • Big night under stars

Enjoy breakfast in the Tent Camping and go on the trek around 7 am. We approach Amphu Labcha South Base Camp, where icefall walls and serrated ridgelines dominate the view. Trail conditions: increasing rockfall exposure in places, loose moraine, and snow funnels—helmets on. Guides reassess ropes, ice screws, and anchor kits for tomorrow. This section is one of the most beautiful and serious links between Mera and Island Peak. Early dinner and disciplined rest are essential for a strong and safe pass crossing.

Max Altitude: 5,650m. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & DinnerAccommodation: Remote Mountain campingDistance: 5-6hrs

Highlights:

  • Cross Amphu Labcha Pass (5,845m)
  • Fixed ropes and short rappels (as needed)
  • Enter the Imja Valley (Khumbu)
  • Teahouse comforts in Chhukung

Leaving Amphu Labtcha Base Camp, you will have a challenging day crossing the pass today. A predawn start puts us on steep snow/ice ramps toward Amphu Labcha. Depending on conditions, we use fixed lines, front-point on steeper sections, and may rappel short steps on the far side. Trail conditions: technical, exposed, and variable; this is a guided alpinist day. Descending into the Imja Valley, the scenery opens to Ama Dablam and Island Peak. We reach Chhukung for a well-earned rest, hot meals, and a warm bed—welcome to the Khumbu side. Overnight stay at Chhukung.

Max Altitude: 5,845m. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & DinnerAccommodation: TeahouseDistance: 9-10hrs

Highlights:

  • Early dinner, early bed
  • Summit systems check
  • Glacier training before the summit.
  • Approach the Island Peak Base Camp under Ama Dablam Peak.

Today, we trek up the Imja Valley on sandy moraine paths to Island Peak Base Camp. Another peak is approaching among the Three Peaks in Nepal. Trail conditions: easy gradients but thinner air; dusty in dry spells, muddy after snow. The Island Peak climbing briefing covers the summit route, ladder or crevasse crossings (if present), and fixed rope use on headwall sections. We prepare summit packs with water, gels, spare layers, and double-check headlamps. The setting sun paints the Lhotse wall golden—tomorrow is our second big summit. Overnight stay at the Camping in Island Peak Base Camp.

Max Altitude: 5,200m. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & DinnerAccommodation: Tent CampDistance: 4-5hrs

Highlights:

  • Hot meals back in Chhukung
  • Exciting headwall and summit ridge
  • Glacial basin crossing (seasonal)
  • Summit Island Peak today, among the three peaks in Everest.

A midnight or 1 a.m. start takes us through the moraine to the glacier. Depending on the season, we cross crevasse fields roped together, then climb fixed lines up the Island Peak headwall to a sharp summit ridge. Trail conditions: cold and technical; careful footwork required. The summit reveals Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, and the Imja Valley below. You already did two of the best peak climbing of Nepal with one remaining to go. We descend safely to Base Camp, then continue to Chhukung for recovery. With Mera Peak and Island Peak complete, one climb remains: Lobuche Peak.

Max Altitude: 6,189M. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & DinnerAccommodation: TeahouseDistance: 10-12hrs

Highlights:

  • Overnight in Lobuche
  • Wild, rocky alpine pass
  • First views of Khumbu Glacier
  • Cross Kongma La, the highest of the Everest Three Passes

After a successful Island Peak Summit, now time to move ahead to Lobuche Peak. After Breakfast, around 6:30 am, the trek continues. We tackle Kongma La Pass, a rugged traverse linking the Imja and Khumbu valleys. Trail conditions: steep ascents, cairned boulder fields, sometimes snow-covered; no teahouses en route, carry adequate water and snacks. The pass offers sharp angles on Pokalde and the ice rivers of the Khumbu Glacier. A long descent lands us in Lobuche, rejoining the classic EBC corridor. Rest well, tomorrow we visit Everest Base Camp.

Max Altitude: 5,535m. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & DinnerAccommodation: TeahouseDistance: 7-9hrs

Highlights:

  • Sleep at Gorak Shep
  • Hike to the iconic Everest Base Camp
  • Close-up views of the Khumbu Icefall from the EBC.

Another great achievement today will be hiking to the Everest Base Camp. We follow the moraine to Gorak Shep, drop our bags, and continue to Everest Base Camp. Trail conditions: rolling glacial debris, uneven rocks, and dusty sections; steady pacing needed. At EBC, the Khumbu Icefall towers ahead—this is a highlight of any Everest region trek. We celebrate photos and soak in the atmosphere, then return to Gorak Shep for the night. Make sure you drink a lot of water at high altitude. Tomorrow, we hike Kala Patthar for the iconic Everest sunrise view. Overnight stay at Gorakshep.

Max Altitude: 5,364m. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & DinnerAccommodation: TeahouseDistance: 8-9hrs

Highlights:

  • Descend for thicker air
  • Preparation for Lobuche Peak
  • Everest and Nuptse panorama at dawn from Kala Pathar
  • Golden light on the summit pyramid from the Vantage Viewpoint Kala Patthar.

Wake up early around 3 am to catch the sunrise from Kala Pathar. From Gorakshep, we will hike to Kala Patthar. A pre-dawn climb up Kala Patthar rewards us with the best classic view of Everest, Nuptse, and Pumori. Trail conditions: steep, gravelly switchbacks; cold and windy—layer up. After photos, we descend to Gorak Shep for breakfast, then head back down to Lobuche. The afternoon is for rest, packing, and a Lobuche Peak briefing—our third and final summit of the Three Peaks Nepal adventure.

Max Altitude: 5,545m. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & DinnerAccommodation: TeahouseDistance: 6-7hrs

Highlights:

  • Short approach, big altitude
  • Snow/rock mix near High Camp
  • Fixed rope training before the climb.
  • Early night, wake up before the summit

We climb from Lobuche to High Camp, gaining a rocky platform above the glacier. Trail conditions: bouldery paths with scree and occasional snow, helmet recommended. After lunch, the guides run a short refresher on the jumar technique and descending on fixed lines. We sort summit packs, confirm water and snacks, and check gloves/mitts. The views of Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and the Khumbu peaks build excitement for summit day.

Max Altitude: 5,600m. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & DinnerAccommodation: Tent CampDistance: 3-4hrs

Highlights:

  • Technical snow slopes and ridge
  • Safe descent to a lower altitude
  • Lobuche Peak Summit among the Three Peaks in Nepal
  • Celebrate in Thukla after a successful Lobuche Peak Climb.

We start early over mixed rock and snow, then clip to fixed lines for the upper Lobuche Peak section. Trail conditions: firm snow early, possible ice patches; exposure on the ridge requires focus. The summit panorama is superb—Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and the Khumbu icefields. After a careful descent to High Camp, we continue down to Thukla, breathing richer air and celebrating the completion of all Three Peaks. Stretch, hydrate, and enjoy a well-earned dinner.

Highlights:

  • Visit memorials at Thukla Pass
  • Hot showers and bakeries in Namche
  • Rejoin the main Everest Base Camp Trekking Trail.

Now, you will lose elevation from Thukla. We descend past the Everest memorials at Thukla Pass and join the main trail. Trail conditions: well-trodden paths with stone steps; can be busy near Tengboche/Pangboche. Pine forests and warmer air make walking easier. Namche Bazaar welcomes us with café treats, mountain gear shops, and great views of Kongde and Thamserku. This is the perfect place to reflect on the Mera Peak, Island Peak, and Lobuche Peak trilogy. Namche Bazaar is often the acclimatisation place for those who do the Everest Base Camp Trek. Overnight stay at Namche.

Travel Insurance Requirement for the Peak Climbing in Nepal

Travel Insurance is one of the most important documents while participating in the Peak Climbing in Nepal. Moreover, NMA (Nepal Mountaineering Association) will also ask for the insurance before issuing the climbing permits. The insurance must cover medical bills, injuries, helicopter evacuations, trip cancellations, and other losses. Three Peak Climbing in Nepal is an adventurous trip that involves risky activities. Hence, your insurance should know about the activity you are going to take part in. Travel Insurance is specifically important in remote and rugged terrain while engaging in trekking and climbing activities.

Responsible Tourism during the Peak Climbing in Nepal

During the Mera, Island, and Lobuche Peal climb, our team is aware of several tourism activities. Considering this fact, we have a motto of leaving only footprints behind during any trips all over Nepal. We always provide our clients regarding the preservation of our Nepalese culture and nature throughout the journey. Travellers must follow the guidelines of the Sagarmatha National Park and Makalu Baru National Park during the trekking and climbing. Even at the base camps and high camps, you must deposit the garbage from your side to preserve Mother Nature at high altitude.

Best Time to do Three Peak Climbing in Nepal

Timing your climb correctly is crucial for safety and enjoyment. The best seasons to climb Mera, Island, or Lobuche Peak are spring and autumn, which coincide with Nepal’s dry, stable weather periods.

Spring (Pre-Monsoon – March to May): This is one of the most popular times for peak climbing. The weather gradually warms up after winter, and by April and May, the high valleys are relatively mild (though nights at high camp are still very cold, -15°C or lower). Spring offers longer daylight hours and generally stable high-pressure systems that bring clear mornings (afternoons can see some cloud build-up). In spring, you’ll also experience the rhododendron forests in bloom during the trek approach – hillsides splashed with pink, red, and white flowers, especially on the Mera route.

Autumn (Post-Monsoon – September to November): The other prime season, autumn, comes right after the summer monsoon rains. From mid-September through November, the weather is generally dry, skies are crystal clear (October is famous for its sharp mountain views), and temperatures are moderate. Autumn climbs are often blessed with steady weather and very clear views, especially in October and early November. The trails in September might still be damp or muddy from the monsoon, and there can be some lingering cloud early in the season, but by October, the conditions are near perfect. Autumn nights are longer and can be colder than spring – by November, high camps can reach -20°C at night – but climbers manage with proper gear, and the reward is often a stunning panorama every day.

Training & Preparation for the Three Peak Climb in Nepal

Embarking on a 6000m peak climb in Nepal is a serious endeavour – solid preparation will not only improve your chances of summiting, but also make the experience more enjoyable. Here are some essential training and preparation tips before you tackle Mera, Island, or Lobuche:

1. Build Your Cardiovascular Endurance: All three climbs involve long days of sustained physical effort (summit days can be 8-12+ hours of climbing and descending). Start training at least 3-6 months in advance with activities like hiking, running, cycling, and stair-climbing.

2. Boost Leg Strength and Endurance: Your legs will carry you up thousands of meters of elevation gain. Incorporate strength training (squats, lunges, step-ups) and long hikes carrying a weighted pack to strengthen your quads, glutes, and calves.

3. Get used to the high altitude: If possible, do some hikes or treks to high altitude before your climb.

4. Learn Basic Mountaineering Skills: While Mera Peak can be done as essentially a glacier hike, Island and Lobuche require more technical know-how. Before the trip (or during, on training day), you should familiarise yourself with: using crampons on ice/snow, walking with an ice axe (and basic self-arrest technique), clipping into a fixed rope with a harness and jumar (ascender), and abseiling (rappelling) with a figure-8 or ATC device.

5. Gear Up Properly: Having the right gear can make or break your climb. Key items include insulated mountaineering boots, a good quality waterproof jacket and pants, layers of warm clothing (a down jacket is a must above base camp), a climbing harness, crampons, an ice axe, a helmet, and a warm sleeping bag. Overland Trek Nepal provides group climbing equipment like ropes, ice screws, etc., and we offer rental gear for personal items if needed.

6. Mental Preparation: Climbing at high altitude is as much a mental game as physical. Prepare yourself to be out of your comfort zone – it’s normal to feel fatigue, have moments of doubt, or find yourself struggling on the summit push. Cultivate a positive mindset and resilience.

By following these preparation tips, you set yourself up for success on Mera, Island, or Lobuche Peak. Remember, thousands of people have stood on these summits – with the right prep and our support, you can too! Many of our past clients, from first-time high-altitude hikers to seasoned adventurers, have achieved their goals on these climbs and often exceeded their own expectations. Get ready to push your limits in the best way possible – the Himalayas will reward you with an experience of a lifetime.

Meals during Mera, Island, and Lobuche Peak Climb

Nutrition is very important while climbing the 3 major peaks above 6000 meters. During the Three Peak Climbing in Nepal, meals are carefully planned to offer high energy, balanced nutrients, and easy digestibility at altitude.

In Kathmandu and during the lower altitude of the Everest Region, you'll enjoy traditional Nepali dal bhat, Tibetan momos, soups, and Western options like pasta, rice, and eggs. You will find a wide range of meal items in the menu of the teahouses.

Once at base camp and higher, team of the Overland Crew Members' cook team prepares high-calorie meals such as porridge, pasta, mashed potatoes, dehydrated fruits, noodles, and protein-packed soups. Remember, in the tent camping, the meals are mostly canned food, soups, pasta, and noodles.

Getting hydrated is equally important, too. You’ll get enough hot drinks, including herbal tea, ginger-lemon-honey, coffee, and rehydration solutions. The water in the high camp is provided by melting the snow, which is okay to drink.

Carrying energy bars, nuts, and chocolate as personal snacks is encouraged for the higher camps, where your body burns thousands of calories during summit rotation. Our meals are designed not just for nourishment, but for comfort, morale, and performance.

Accommodation and Camping in Mera, Island, & Lobuche Peak

Accommodation during the Three Peak Climbing in Nepal is teahouses along the trekking route and tent camping while climbing. You will stay in teahouses like Chutanga, Thangnak, Khare, Chukkung, Gorakshep, Namche, and Lukla. Local families run these teahouses, providing simple rooms with shared bathrooms, warm meals, and cosy dining halls that are perfect for acclimatisation and cultural immersion.

As you ascend beyond the teahouses like Khare to Mera Peak Base Camp, the landscape becomes wilder, and camping becomes essential. Overland Trek Nepal sets up high-quality expedition tents, including sleeping tents, kitchen tents, dining tents, and toilet tents, ensuring comfort and hygiene even in the rugged alpine zone. Same with the Island Peak and Lobuche Peak. The tent will be set up at the base camp and High Camp.

Overland Trek Nepal ensures the highest safety and comfort standards for all climbers. Our Peak climbing in Nepal is not just survival; it’s a well-managed adventure under the stars.

Altitude Sickness during the Three Peak Climbing in Nepal

Altitude sickness is a major concern while doing the 6000-meter peak climbing, and that too three major peaks in the Everest. Proper acclimatisation, hydration, and awareness are key to avoiding life-threatening conditions like HAPE or HACE.

Here’s how to manage altitude effectively:

  • Ascend Slowly and Gradually: Our itinerary is designed with slow altitude gain and acclimatisation at Khare and Kongmadingma.
  • Drink enough water: Drink 4–5 litres daily. Dehydration increases the chances of getting sick.
  • Use Diamox (Acetazolamide): Start preventive doses after crossing 3,500m if advised by your doctor.
  • Know the symptoms: Headache, nausea, insomnia, and dizziness are early signs. Never ignore them. Inform your climbing guide immediately about the symptoms.
  • Descend in case of emergency: If symptoms worsen, descent is the only cure. Overland Trek Nepal’s guides are trained to make these calls immediately.

Our team carries a Gamow Bag (portable altitude chamber) and oxygen supplies for emergencies. Climbing Mera, Island, and Lobuche is as much about listening to your body as it is about grit and determination.
