🌿✨ Women leading climate-smart agriculture in northern Ghana In the Tungteiya Women’s Cooperative in Bunlung, Savelugu District, the Ghana Shea Landscape Emission Reductions Project, funded by the Green Climate Fund, is creating new opportunities for women to grow, lead, and thrive in climate-smart agriculture across the Northern Savannah region. Yesterday, with support from UN-REDD Programme, UNDP, and the Global Shea Alliance, a focus group discussion was held with women beneficiaries to better understand how the project is transforming their lives. Using The W+ Standard, the project is now measuring and quantifying women’s empowerment, tracking improvements in livelihoods, decision-making power, and overall well-being. This ensures that climate action not only reduces emissions, but lifts up the women who are central to sustainable land management. 👉🏻 Learn more about the W+ Standard here: https://www.wplus.org/ #SaveForestsNow #WomenEmpowerment #ClimateAction
