It has been a great week for us at Runnymede Long-Term Care Home as we officially opened our doors to the community and celebrated the admission of our first patient to our facility. Our Long-Term Care Home is a 200-bed facility, with the first-ever dedicated Maltese floor in North America, established to support the needs of seniors in our community. https://lnkd.in/em_Nc4-g

On #NationalSeniorsDay, we are proud to share highlights from the recent visit by Her Worship, Olivia Chow, Mayor of Toronto, to our new 200-bed Long-Term Care Home, which has the first-ever dedicated Maltese floor in the province. It was an honour to host her and showcase our commitment to being the centre of excellence for aging and wellness. We are deeply grateful for her continued partnership, leadership, and shared commitment to enhancing the quality of life of seniors in Toronto. Today, we celebrate the invaluable contributions of seniors in our community and reaffirm our promise to support them with dignity and respect.

Runnymede was proud to share insights on our PTSI Centre of Excellence for First Responders at the Canadian Mental Health Association, Muskoka-Parry Sound Annual General Meeting. It was a privilege to connect with passionate community members from across the north and engage in meaningful conversations around mental health and innovation for our First Responder community. A heartfelt thank you to the CMHA team for the warm welcome and for hosting such a fantastic event - your hospitality and dedication truly made the day memorable.

Yesterday, we marked a pivotal moment in our journey: the construction completion of the Runnymede Long-Term Care Home. This achievement opens the door to an exciting new chapter for our community. Located in the heart of Little Malta, we are proud to dedicate an entire floor in our new 200-bed facility to the Maltese community honouring their heritage and contributions. Our President & CEO, Connie Dejak, proudly joined the Honourable Solicitor General, Michael Kerzner, at Toronto Fire Station 144 to honour the bravery and service of our firefighters. The event celebrated the launch of Phase 2 of the Ontario Fire Protection Grant — a crucial step in supporting the safety and preparedness of those who risk their lives to protect ours. We are grateful to the Provincial Government, Fire Associations, and Fire Chiefs from across Ontario for their presence and ongoing commitment.
