Congratulations to Oxford Learning franchisee Shella Mithani (Oxford Learning Barrhaven, Nepean, and Orléans locations) on her experience chairing the World Partnership Golf 2025 for Aga Khan Foundation Canada and raising $139 000! She says this experience was a reminder that leadership is not about doing it all yourself — it’s about bringing the right people together and creating space for them to shine.
The annual World Partnership Golf tournament once again brought together players and volunteers in a spirited effort to raise funds in the fight against global poverty. The event was held at the Camelot Golf and Country Club and combined sport with purpose, transforming a day on the course into an opportunity to support communities worldwide. 👋 Meet our Franchisee in North Bay, Ontario! 📚Oxford Learning franchisee Paige Shemilt grew up at the North Bay centre location, which she currently operates. Her mother, Danielle, opened the North Bay location in 1999 while Paige was a young elementary school student. Paige spent much time there after school in her program and assisted in a variety of operational ways. As an undergraduate student at the university, Paige worked in the centre as a teacher. 🏫 While she was at university, Paige studied Business and Marketing with a minor in Psychology. Her education and goals married well, and she found a calling in operating a centre. 🧠Paige says the ability to help students discover their own success, which impacts both them and the community positively, is the best reason to work with students. “We focus on creating a real circle within our centre—a fun and supportive atmosphere. Our staff and students feel like family to us, and that extends into the greater locality.” 🏅Paige’s community-driven interests were recently recognized when she received the King Charles III Coronation Medal for her volunteer work with Cystic Fibrosis Canada. Along with this prestigious award, Paige has also been selected as a CFA franchisee of the year, bronze (2021), and has won several Oxford Learning recognition awards. 🤝The most gratifying part of being an Oxford Learning franchisee for Paige is the students and making a difference in their lives. “Watching students discover their own success is the most rewarding experience,” she says. 📍To learn more about Oxford Learning North Bay, contact Paige, Danielle and the Oxford Learning North Bay Team at northbay@oxfordlearning.com and visit the team at 1-343 Airport Rd., North Bay, Ontario, P1B 8W8. 249.486.5885

In a world where education is powered by technology, the best kind of learning doesn't need internet access or a network password. That's because learning is most effective when powered by human interaction. While it may seem old-fashioned, research continually provides evidence that stronger learning skills are developed offline and that pen, paper, and brain power are still the best ways to learn. ☀️ It's summer, and Oxford Learning is open for business! 👋 This time of year is synonymous with great weather, vacations, beaches, and plenty of downtime. But while schools close for two months or more, Oxford Learning Centres remain open, helping students avoid the academic pitfalls of the break from learning. For franchisees, summer can be one of the busiest times of year, with three distinct categories of students looking for summer support: 📚 Previous students returning for a summer catch-up program 📚 Existing students who continue their regular tutoring programs 📚 New students enrolling in summer camps and programs Oxford Learning franchisees play an important role in the supplemental education marketplace. By offering summer learning programs, they help reshape public perceptions about the traditional breaks and the conversation about the importance of summer programs and ongoing student success. Research shows that between 70% and 78% of elementary students experience declining math skills over the summer. Known as the “summer slide,” this learning loss can set students back months in all subjects, but especially math. Math is a cumulative subject, meaning that new skills build on understanding the concepts that came before. When students take a two-month break from practice, they often return to school needing review instead of preparing for new challenges. Here's how to keep math skills sharp over the summer: https://lnkd.in/gkZkDbpu

🎉Now Open! Oxford Learning’s newest location, North York Willowdale, celebrated its Grand Opening on Saturday, June 7. Centre Director Stephanie Dai and Centre Manager Sarah Dai are excited to open their doors and welcome students from the Willowdale community. 📚While Stephanie brings a passion for helping students build solid foundations in math, problem-solving, and critical thinking, Sarah brings her experience working with learners of all ages across various educational settings in Canada and overseas, along with a holistic, child-centred approach to education.
