Training Description:
Strategic approaches and innovative solutions are imperative for Tribal Nations and accordingly, the launch of the newly designed Tribal Technical Assistance to Brownfields (Tribal TAB) Program is noteworthy for communities across Indian Country. This next generation collective includes the collaborative partnership between Kansas State University (KSU), Institute for Tribal Environmental Professionals (ITEP), and the Alaska Native Health Consortium (ANTHC). The core organizations and shared capabilities they provide offer a unique hub of products and services. This marks an enhanced commitment to supporting Tribal Communities in addressing environmental contamination and revitalizing sacred lands. Indigenous technical assistance is free and easily accessible for transforming brownfields sites through the continuum of visioning, identifying, assessing, cleaning up, and reusing potentially impacted sites.
The session is designed for Tribal Leaders; environmental, housing, planning, and other professionals; community organizers; non-profits; and Indigenous Peoples interested in community building and cultural resilience which support self-determination.
Training Objectives:
This webinar will provide:
-An overview of the restructured program, including its mission, goals, plans, and services
-Attendees will connect with the Tribal TAB leadership team (KSU, ITEP, and ANTHC)
-Learn about program opportunities
-Explore user-friendly tools and program management resources
-Be invited to join an emerging peer mentoring and learning network
