I'm happy to share the release of the #WiSER White Paper, "Igniting a Global Sustainable Economy," following the impactful discussions at the WiSER Annual Forum during Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week - ADSW 2025. This report highlights the critical role of female entrepreneurs in driving climate solutions and provides actionable strategies to bridge gender gaps in finance, scalability, AI, mentorship, and accessibility—especially for women in the Global South. Why This Matters: Women-led ventures are key to unlocking innovation in sustainability, yet systemic barriers persist. This paper outlines 5 recommendations: 🔹 Increase Gender-Focused Investment : Boost funding, financial literacy, and microloans for female-led climate projects. 🔹 Scale Women-Led Ventures : Streamline policies and partnerships to accelerate growth. 🔹 Harness AI & Digital Tools: Bridge the AI literacy and access gap to empower business expansion. 🔹 Strengthen Mentorship and Networking: Build cross-sector collaborations to provide women with the resources to succeed. 🔹 Empower Women in the Global South : Address legal and financial barriers, invest in STEM education, and improve access to markets and resources. Dive into the full report below or on Masdar (Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company)’s website for insights on turning these strategies into action: https://lnkd.in/dyAFPEP2 Thanks again to my fellow roundtable participants: Lawratou Bah, CFA, Mirella Amalia Vitale, Natasha Shenoy, Hajar Alketbi, Manal B., Mariam Alnaqbi, Shaima Al Mulla

#InternationalWomensDay is here, so here’s some incredible female voices in cloud who I learn heaps from every day, and you should be following: 💬 Brooke Jamieson is a powerful leader and speaker in AI and Cloud, and definitely knows more about data and machine learning than I’d ever hope to. She's also been a pioneer of short-form video for tech. Case in point, one of her short videos describing confusing concepts of accuracy, precision and recall far better than I’ve ever heard. ✨Danielle H. is an AWS Serverless Hero, and is a true champion of the serverless mindset. She's also an intensely down-to-earth and wholesome human being. Her posts are a constant stream of “oh damn, that’s so succinct and clear”, so I’m learning stuff from her basically every day. Darya Petrashka is a Senior Data Scientist, accomplished speaker, and part of a first-place team in the AWS CB Global Generatative AI Hackathon last year (as part of an all-female team too!). Data and problem-solving go hand-in-hand, a lesson I continuously learn from Darya's shared journey. Faye Ellis is a Principal Training Architect at A Cloud Guru/Pluralsight, and brings her vast experience in infrastructure engineering and architecture to life through her content. As well as being one of the best educators I’ve ever worked with, I also learned a lot about the concepts of CI/CD from her! Check out her new short videos being posted on LinkedIn! Gwyneth Peña-Siguenza is a Senior Cloud Advocate at Microsoft, and her content blows away the hype to talk about the things that are truly important in building a career in tech. As video creator, I learned a lot from her 7-day-cloud-youtube-starterkit, and it’s still something I’ll recommend. Lucy Wang a former Solution Architect at AWS, now empowers over 100k individuals through her YouTube channel and content initiatives. Following her journey as an independent self-employed creator has been a remarkable lesson in determined action and entrepreneurship. Suzana Melo Moraes is a full-stack developer, and AWS Community Builder. Her journey transitioning into a career in the cloud has exemplified the value of learning in public, and it’s taught me both a lot of things about succeeding as a career transitioner, as well as the technical practices of Developer Relations. This is just a FEW of the amazing women I follow and learn from here on LinkedIn. Not because they’re “upcoming upstarts who deserve a boost on IWD”, but because they’re leaders and experts in their profession who I, and many others learn from. 👀 Who are some female creators in tech you follow?

I've been writing about/researching gender diversity for years, and the data consistently shows that progress toward parity in senior #leadership roles remains slow. We wanted to understand what's behind those numbers, so at the ESG Insider #podcast we spent the past 2 years speaking to women in leadership roles around the world and across industries. The result is our special Women in Leadership series of the ESG Insider podcast. Over the course of more than a dozen interviews, we've heard stories from CEOs and leaders in cleantech, consulting, consumer goods, community banking, insurance...the list goes on. And their stories have been inspiring, infuriating and instructive. In our final episode of the series, I speak to Dr. Vanessa Z Chan, the Chief Commercialization Officer at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and Director of the Office of Technology Transitions. She was also just named to the #TIME100 Climate list of the 100 most influential climate leaders for 2024.  In the interview, Dr. Chan talks about her outlook on energy transition technologies, the unlikely path that led her to her current role and her advice for people earlier in their careers. Listen to the interview here: https://lnkd.in/eMqBVPDQ A big thank you to Dr. Chan and to all the guests who have shared their time and experience with our podcast audience throughout this series. Why women-led climate projects deliver 63% better returns—yet receive only 6% of funding 📊 I just published an article exploring what I've learned building infrastructure in the climate space, featuring the brilliant work of fellow women founders who are changing how we approach sustainability: 🌱 Maddy Cooper at Flourish - Building the communication infrastructure that helps major brands like Nike and Allianz tell authentic sustainability stories without greenwashing fears 💰 Elizabeth Landau at GreenPortfolio - Creating transparency tools that help investors understand what their money is actually funding across 20,000+ stocks and funds 🔗 Taza - Our marketplace connecting enterprises with 94,000+ verified sustainability solution providers to solve the discovery crisis The pattern? Women founders are building the infrastructure that makes the entire climate ecosystem work. For investors: The highest returns in climate tech might be hiding in women-led infrastructure plays. For enterprises: Effective sustainability transformation requires the right discovery tools, communication capabilities, and financial alignment. For other founders: The climate space needs more infrastructure builders focused on enabling rather than competing. What infrastructure gaps do you see in climate tech that need building? #ClimateFounders #WomenInClimate #SustainabilityInfrastructure #ClimateInvesting #CleanTech

Two Passions, One Journey: Women in Leadership and Sustainability 🌿👩💼 For the past two years, I've been deeply committed to two causes: women in leadership and sustainability. Recently, I had the chance to dive into some data that brought these passions together, and the findings were powerful! 🌟 5 Key Takeaways: Women Lead, Sustainability Follows: Companies with top climate grades (A+ and A) have 100% women in leadership, showing a strong link between diversity and sustainability. Diversity Matters: As climate grades drop, so does female leadership. A lack of diversity might hold some companies from reaching their sustainability goals. Workforce Impact: Companies with more women in the workforce tend to have more women in leadership, driving sustainable practices. Top 5 Role Models: Companies like Sims Ltd (Australia) and Vestas Wind Systems (Denmark) excel in sustainability, with strong female leadership. Real Correlation: The data shows that women in leadership play a key role in pushing sustainability initiatives forward. Why This Matters? Because it shows that when women lead, change happens. It’s not just about hitting quotas or being ‘politically correct’ – it’s about making real, impactful decisions that create a sustainable future for all of us. We need more companies to recognize that empowering women isn’t just the right thing to do; it’s the smart thing to do. Let’s continue to support, uplift, and celebrate women leaders because, as this data shows, they’re not just part of the change – they are the change. 💪🌱 (Data source: https://lnkd.in/gfv57j-B) UN Women (Women’s leadership and political participation): https://lnkd.in/gMHeGMcs Women in Leadership CSUEB WOMEN IN TECH ® Global Women in Leadership (WIL) #WomenInLeadership #Sustainability #DiversityMatters #DataStories #Empowerment #LeadershipJourney #ESG

Today’s Economic Times Delhi edition carried a powerful story on women shaping the future of AI and deep tech. Reading about Prukalpa ⚡ Sankar of Atlan, who won the Woman Ahead award for creating a single source of truth for a firm’s data assets, I couldn’t help but feel deeply inspired. What stood out for me was not just the recognition of one brilliant leader, but the incredible list of contenders alongside her -Pallavi Shrivastava (Progcap), Romita Mazumdar (Foxtale), Shruti (ApnaKlub), Aditi Murarka (Nestasia), Anjali Sardana (Pronto). Each of them represents courage, resilience, and innovation in spaces where women have often been underrepresented. Prukalpa’s words in the feature stayed with me: “When I started, there were very few role models of women building global, deep-tech firms. Now to be recognised among the incredible women leaders is inspiring.” For me, this is what AI Kiran is all about, creating platforms where human stories meet technology, where innovation is not just about codes and algorithms but about shaping impact, governance, and inclusion. We often hear that AI will change the future. But stories like these remind us that women in AI are already changing the present. Ofcourse lots still to be done ! Here’s to celebrating more such voices, amplifying their journeys, and ensuring that the future of tech is diverse, inclusive, and human-first. To all the women leading the charge, thank you for diving deep so the rest of us can rise together. Kirthiga Reddy Lakshmi Pratury Shagufta D.
