Formative assessment is like a compass—it is ongoing, diagnostic, and designed to guide learning. It provides students with timely, actionable feedback during the learning process so they can improve before reaching the final destination. Examples include quizzes, think-pair-share, drafts, reflections, or teacher-student conferences. Formative assessments help identify misconceptions, adjust teaching strategies, and personalise support. In this way, they build student confidence and competence incrementally. Summative assessment is more like a snapshot—it evaluates what students have achieved at the end of an instructional period. It measures mastery against learning outcomes and is used to judge the effectiveness of instruction. Examples include final exams, projects, performances, or standardised tests. While summative assessments do not provide direct guidance during the learning process, they reflect the culmination of all the formative learning and feedback that came before.

Your impact doesn't have to come at the cost of your sanity. Every coach might relate to this situation. Coaches pour themselves into their clients, neglecting their own well-being, and before they know it, they’re on the brink of Burnout. One of my mentors advised me – Coaching is about achieving more while doing less. And the only way to do it is – Time management. 📍 The first thing I started doing was – Saying NO. Every 'yes' is a hidden 'no' to something else. So, I started saying no to tasks that can be done without my direct attention 📍I started by auditing my time. Every minute for a week. I was shocked to discover I spent more time on admin tasks than actual coaching. So, I outsourced my small tasks. 📍 I coined "Power Hours"—90-minute blocks of deep work, followed by 15-minute breaks. 📍I also implemented a 'not-to-do' list. It sits right next to my to-do list, reminding me of the distractions I've committed to avoiding. 📍And finally, time for me, that's 6-9 AM. No emails, no calls—just pure, uninterrupted creation or learning. I've learned that saying 'no' to the many opens up space to say 'hell yes' to the vital few. Today, I'm coaching more effectively than ever, but working fewer hours. What could you powerfully neglect today to reclaim your time and amplify your impact? #coaches #timemanagement #mentors

I charged my first client only ₹200.  I undersold my services for 6 years,  before realising my worth. We now bill our clients 7 figures annually, but I realised: 90% of service providers in India (freelancer or agency) - undercharge. I know because I've been there. Here’s what I wish I knew about pricing models for services earlier: 1. Hourly rates are a trap Selling your time means you get punished for efficiency. If you’re confident in your offer, take more responsibility - promise an outcome - and deliver it. You’ll be able to charge higher. 2. Retainers are your best friend Predictable revenue gives stability. Structure monthly retainers for long-term clients. Offer them consistency, and secure your cash flow. 3. Keep an eye on revenue Forget charging according to market rates. Estimate the revenue you’re generating for your client - and price yourself at 10-30% of that. 5. Raise your prices, fearlessly The first time I quoted over 1 lakh for a project, I thought they’d say no. They said, “Where do I pay?”. It’s your own mindset holding you back. 6. The "anchoring" hack Create a premium package and an affordable one. Always quote the premium one first. → If it suits them, then you land yourself a high value client. → If it doesn’t, it makes the affordable package an easy downsell. (Because your perceived value is higher) - Also, pro tip: The clients who hesitate at your higher rates are the same ones who'll drain your energy later. So, choose wisely. What pricing model are you using in your agency? #pricing #founder #agency #growth

The framework to effectively teach a skill. Do you teach skills to others - at work, at home, at communities? #Skill training is different from behavioral training. "Every skill you acquire doubles your odds of success." - Scott Adams I remember when I was training my daughter how to cycle without the support wheels when she was 6yrs old. It wasn't easy! These are some of the phrases and sentences I had used (Can you relate to any of them?) "Sit straight" "Eyes front" "Steady your hands" "No, that's not the way" "C'mon, one more round...you can do it!" "How are you feeling?" "No, I am not letting go...I am holding the cycle..." "Okay, I know you are upset...Daddy shouted because of...and I am sorry" "You need to overcome that fear" "Did I tell you the story of ..." "When I was learning to drive a cycle, Grandpa..." "Great job! Now you feel more confident, isn't it?" "Yes, yes, yes...finally" I had to demonstrate, explain, coach, let go, motivate, be patient, cheer, apologize and finally allow her to do it in her own style. Now when she does these little stunts on her bicycle, I clap and cheer because she is using that skill to learn new ones on her own! "Learning how to learn is life's most important skill." - Tony Buzan I was working with two different groups of leaders in the same organization, teaching them skills - the skill of #Datastorytelling and the skill of #PresentingwithoutPowerPoint. The participants in both these sessions were at different levels of competence so I had to ensure the skill was examined, experienced, experimented with and exhibited by all. As I reflected on the learning and the feedback I received, I created a visual framework to help me and you to teach skills more effectively. Introducing the 𝗗𝗘𝗣𝗜𝗖𝗧𝗦 Visual framework: D - #Demonstrate Tell why, reveal the outcome with benefits, and show how it is done to get attention & build interest E - #Explain The key steps, methodology, with quick tips P - #Patiently Redemonstrate Step by step, role-plays, how-to's, clarify doubts, keep it slow-paced I - #Imitate Give them the opportunity to repeat with you, check for progress, motivate, correct, and help them remember C - #Coach Debrief the skill learning journey objectively & reflectively, and lead them to refine T - #Trial Create a safe space to test it, let go, cheer, accept their style, and allow them to adapt to their real world scenarios S - #Strategy Guide them to craft an action plan with follow-up and accountability + give them secret tricks "An empowered organisation is one in which individuals have the knowledge, skill, desire, and opportunity to personally succeed in a way that leads to collective organisational success." - Stephen Covey What do you think of the DEPICTS framework? How can it be made better? 💡I provide Visual frameworks & tools with stories for leaders to See, Serve & Share in this digital era. #ashleyvinil #visualleadership #visdemy #storypreso #leadership

Too often, group coaching is dismissed as a “lighter” or “cheaper” version of 1:1 coaching. But that couldn’t be further from the truth. Group coaching is a distinct, evidence-based practice with unique benefits - especially powerful when it comes to leadership, inclusion, and equity in organisations. Here are 5 of the most common myths I hear - and why they hold companies back: 1️⃣ “It’s just a cheaper version of 1:1” In reality, group coaching creates something individual coaching cannot: peer learning, shared accountability, and the validating experience of hearing others speak openly about similar challenges. This can be transformational for confidence and resilience. 2️⃣ “It’s only for junior employees” Group coaching is powerful at every level - especially for senior leaders. It builds social capital, creates cross-functional connections, and helps leaders see challenges through multiple perspectives. 3️⃣ “People won’t open up in a group” Confidentiality and trust are not barriers when sessions are skilfully facilitated. With the right contracting and psychological safety in place, people often share more openly than they expect - and the depth of reflection can be extraordinary. 4️⃣ “It’s basically training” Unlike training, which follows a fixed curriculum, group coaching is adaptive and participant-led. It creates space for reflection, exploration, and personalised learning that is sustained over time. 5️⃣ “You can’t get individual attention” While it’s not 1:1, group coaching ensures every voice is heard. Participants also gain something they can’t get in a private coaching room: multiple perspectives and the support of peers who ‘get it’. Why does this matter for equity and inclusion? Because so many leadership challenges - especially those faced by women and underrepresented groups - are collective, systemic, and relational. Group coaching makes those dynamics visible, creates belonging, and helps participants see they are not alone. ✅ It’s not second-best.  ✅ It’s not a downgrade.  ✅ It’s a powerful developmental experience in its own right. If your organisation is serious about equity, inclusion, and sustainable leadership development - group coaching should be part of your strategy.    And if you’d like to dive deeper into the research and practice, you can download our white paper on “The Power of Group Coaching for Women” here: https://lnkd.in/eFPXH468    I’d love to hear: what has surprised you most about group coaching?

One of my teachers recently confided in me, expressing her struggle with time management and the overwhelming pressure . 🕒 I appreciated her efforts of asking for help and expressing herself. Sometimes I feel it's important to ask for help rather than having a burnout. As an Academic Coordinator, I've had the privilege of working closely with our dedicated educators, and I understand that finding the right balance between teaching, planning, and personal life can be a significant challenge. Here are some valuable time management tips I've shared with her and to help regain control and find a sense of calm amidst the chaos: 1️⃣ Follow the Academic Calendar :All schools prepare it well in advance .So before the start of every month, important dates of events and exams should be noted down to prevent end-time hustle. 2️⃣ Prioritize Tasks: Start by creating a to-do list and prioritize tasks based on importance and deadlines. This simple step can provide clarity and focus. 3️⃣ Time Blocking: Use of time blocking, where you can allocate specific time slots for different tasks, including breaks. This structured approach can optimize daily schedules. 4️⃣Break Tasks Down: Breaking larger tasks into smaller, manageable steps. This makes progress feel more attainable. 5️⃣ Time Management Tools: Using time management tools or apps that aid in tracking tasks, deadlines, and appointments. Above all, I feel not to take any task as a burden but just an opportunity ahead also reduces our stress level. And to strongly believe that under the sun there is a solution to every problem and approach for help whenever needed. Self care and peace of mind should be our priority . #careercoach #trainer #success #motivation Send a message

Steps to follow by a trainer to handle diverse audience 1. Know Your Audience Gather detailed information about your participants’ backgrounds, cultures, learning preferences, and expectations before the session. This can be done via pre-session surveys, questionnaires, or informal discussions. Understanding their needs helps tailor the content and delivery style appropriately. 2. Adapt Your Content and Methods Customize your training materials to be relevant and relatable to the diverse group. Use examples, case studies, and scenarios that reflect the participants’ varied experiences and cultural contexts. Incorporate multiple teaching methods such as lectures, interactive activities, group discussions, and multimedia to cater to different learning styles (visual, auditory, kinesthetic) Provide materials in various formats (written, visual, audio) to enhance accessibility and comprehension. 3. Set a Tone of Inclusivity Begin the session by establishing an environment of respect, openness, and mutual learning.Use icebreakers that encourage participants to share about their cultural or personal backgrounds, fostering a sense of belonging and appreciation for diversity. 4. Communicate Clearly and Inclusively Use simple, clear language and avoid idiomatic expressions that might confuse non-native speakers. Be mindful of your tone and word choices to avoid unconscious bias or alienation. Use body language, voice inflections, and visual aids to reinforce understanding and inclusion. 5. Build Concrete, Actionable Skills Focus on developing practical pro-diversity skills such as advocacy, inclusive language, allyship, and self-reflection on unconscious biases. Encourage participants to set personal diversity-related goals to foster commitment and behavioral change. 6. Engage Your Audience Actively Incorporate interactive elements like Q&A sessions, group exercises, and discussions that allow participants to share their perspectives and learn from each other. Listen actively and respond to participant feedback to show that their voices are valued. 7. Evaluate and Reflect Assess the effectiveness of your training through feedback and evaluations. Reflect on what worked well and what could be improved for future sessions to better meet the needs of diverse learners. By following these steps, trainers can create a learning environment that respects and leverages diversity, making the training more effective and impactful for all participants.

Can games help your coaching business? Turns out, yes. Games add a sense of playfulness and motivation to learning experiences. The only problem is that creating a game takes a lot of time. That's where gamification comes in. Gamified learning is about taking the principles of game design and applies it to non-game systems. So, how do you create a gamification plan for your coaching business? First, define your goal. What do you want your clients to achieve? Next, identify the game mechanics that will help them achieve it. - Points - Badges - Leaderboards - Progress bars Then, build your game using these mechanics. Make sure it challenges your clients at the appropriate level and makes learning fun. Finally, reward your clients with more than just points. Offer certificates or exclusive access to your coaching services. If done right, gamification will help your clients learn faster and give them a sense of achievement. So, level up your coaching game with gamification.

We created 5 startups in 60 minutes in a FULLY-ONLINE class with ZERO slides! That's 5 startups with a pitch video AND a landing page in just an hour! I conducted my first-ever online-only Entrepreneurship Workshop. From a personalized AI-stylist to a contact lenses cleaner for the lazy folks out there, we saw it all! While Universities struggle to create in-person engagement, I managed to do this fully online. Here's how: 1. The Right Tools ↳ It’s not about comfort ↳ It's not about debating over Zoom vs. Teams ↳ It’s about engaging students, even if there's a learning curve :) 2. Engagement Techniques ↳ Techniques and timing are key ↳ They must involve interaction and not information-delivery ↳ Student Engagement is a skill, not a mere role :) 3. Feedback (not AI-generated) ↳ Feedback has to be constructive ↳ NO to AI-generated feedback templates ↳ I was a student too. I paid too much money to deserve GenAI feedback. Don't be that person :) 4. Time Management ↳ Online sessions are "always going wrong" ↳ Spend time driving learning, not setting up ↳ Use no slides. You're to be focused on. Not the slides. Look at your students, not slides :) 5. Growth Mindset ↳ Encourage students to fail fast & frequently ↳ Create a safe space for them to try new things ↳ This applies to you, me and everyone else. In every context :) I'm building What's On! Campus to help University Academics engage their students better. Need help engaging your students? Comment or DM me.
