Summary

Encouraging self-confidence means actively supporting and building belief in yourself and your capabilities, which is essential for tackling challenges at work and in life. Self-confidence grows through positive self-talk, recognizing your strengths, celebrating small wins, and stepping outside your comfort zone.

  • Shift your mindset: Practice speaking kindly to yourself by replacing negative thoughts with positive, affirming statements each day.
  • Celebrate progress: Take time to acknowledge every achievement, no matter how small, and keep a record of your wins so you can remind yourself of your growth.
  • Expand your comfort zone: Challenge yourself to try new experiences, even if they make you nervous, and remember that growth often happens when you take small, brave steps forward.

I've spent 5 years studying & mastering how to rewire the brain to become more confident. These are the 3 things that make the biggest difference: 1. Consciously creating a self-confident image - Visualisation has been scientifically shown to do this best. - first decide what a confident you looks and feels like. - then close your eyes and mentally rehearse this version of you. The way you talk, walk, interact, dress etc. And what does it feel like? Embrace that. - might sound fluffy, but it's the quickest and most effective way to rewire your self image. The brain can't tell the difference between whats real and imagined. - I now do this everyday and I am the most confident & secure I have ever felt 2. Intentional self-talk - how do you speak to yourself? Do you put yourself down? Do you worry about the worst case scenario? Do you judge yourself? Yup, I've been there! - Catch it, check it and change it. This rewires the patterns in your brain. - Aim for more encouraging, positive or motivational self-talk. - e.g 'I can handle anything' 'I'm doing my best' 'I deserve to be in this room' - Initially it will feel forced and the mind might resist. Then it will become second nature. You want to repeat this like a song in your head. 3. Acknowledging little wins - A big part of building confidence is building competence - the more you celebrate your little wins, the more you build trust & assurance in yourself. Think of it like building the evidence you need to progress. - each day make a list of little victories (no matter how small). You start to build a bank in your brain. You can also refer back. - this activates the brain's reward circuits and keeps you more resilient & motivated in the long term. - even better.. share it with others!! friends, team etc Over 150 studies confirm it My own experience confirms it All my clients are confirming it too. Confidence is a skill. You can start building it today. In fact, what is a little win you are celebrating? Comment below. ♻ Repost to help someone else become more confident How I can help: 1. Confidence is the number 1 thing people want to address. That's why after popular demand, I am hosting a Mental fitness live- unstoppable confidence on Saturday 13th July in London. Join a small group and leave with big confidence. Limited tickets available in comments. 2. Most C-suites, high performers and elite athletes still suffer with a lack of self-confidence. That's because the brain hasn't been rewired. If you want to go from good to great, apply for coaching in my featured section.

Lacking Confidence at Work? Here’s Swami Vivekananda’s Advice to Transform Self-Doubt “You cannot believe in God until you believe in yourself.” This powerful quote by Swami Vivekananda resonates deeply with the challenges many of us face in our careers. Self-belief isn’t just about confidence—it’s the foundation for success in any aspect of life. As we celebrate National Youth Day on January 12th, honoring the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, it’s the perfect time to reflect on how his teachings apply to our professional lives. Think about it: If you doubt your abilities, how can you expect others—your boss, your peers, your clients—to believe in you? If you don’t see your own potential, how can you unlock opportunities waiting for you? In my experience coaching professionals, one thing stands out: The people who achieve the most are not always the most skilled, but the ones who truly believe in themselves. But how do you build self-belief when you feel stuck or unsure? Here are three lessons inspired by Vivekananda’s wisdom: 1️⃣ Recognize Your Strengths: You have unique talents and abilities—start focusing on what you can do, instead of what you can’t. Make a list of your wins, no matter how small, and remind yourself of them regularly. 2️⃣ Embrace Growth: Self-belief doesn’t mean thinking you’re perfect. It means knowing you can learn, grow, and improve. Treat every mistake as a lesson, and every challenge as an opportunity to get better. 3️⃣ Take Action Despite Fear: Vivekananda believed in the power of action. Fear and self-doubt will always exist, but what matters is what you do in spite of them. Start small, take one step, and watch your confidence grow with each move. Self-belief isn’t a switch you flip—it’s a skill you develop. The more you work on it, the stronger it becomes. As we honor Swami Vivekananda’s legacy, let’s commit to believing in ourselves and inspiring others to do the same. Here’s my question for you: What’s one thing you will do this week to build your confidence and strengthen your self-belief? Share your thoughts—I would love to hear them.

After 2 years of teaching communication and soft skills, there is one truth that repeats itself over and over: The conversations you have with yourself can either boost you or crush you under the weight of self-doubt That's why, whenever I coach my clients, the first thing we work on is self-talk (It’s simple, you need to believe in yourself before you expect anyone else you believe in you) Here are 10 self-talk phrases I personally use and teach my clients and students to boost confidence: 1. I deserve to be here 2. I control how I respond 3. I am growing every day 4. I am allowed to take a break 5. I am capable of figuring this out  6. I learn from feedback, not fear it 7. Every expert was once a beginner 8. I am stronger than I feel right now 9. I am a work in progress, and that’s okay 10. I’ve faced challenges before, and I can face this too ♻️Keep repeating these phrases, and you'll see two noticeable changes: 🔰Your confidence will grow. 🔰Your self-worth will increase P.S. If you had to pick just one phrase to start telling yourself today, which one would it be?

What struck me about this scene from Suits was the level of confidence displayed by the young lawyer. I doubt this can happen at a lot of law firms, so apply with caution! But consider a situation where you turn the tables at an interview and have the employer fall over itself to hire you. Over the last few weeks, several folks have told me how they suffer from impostor syndrome. It has affected their ability to get the sort of jobs they crave. I understand why it plagues us. A lot of systems are rigged to sow seeds of self-doubt. The doubt can be insidious, and find its way into areas of our lives that matter. Here's the truth: investing in your self-confidence isn't an indulgence; it's a crucial requirement. Self-confidence isn't just a desirable trait; it's an absolute necessity. As we journey through life, our level of self-confidence can make a difference in our successes. However, there are steps we can take to bolster our self-assurance. - 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠: Never underestimate the power of knowledge. Invest in courses, read books, and explore resources relevant to your field. The more you know, the more confident you become. - 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟: Self-awareness is key to self-confidence. Recognize your strengths and areas you'd like to improve. Embrace your strengths and work on your weaknesses with a positive mindset. - 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐒𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐬: Don't wait for a massive victory to feel confident. Celebrate every achievement, regardless of its size. Each win matters. - 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝐎𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐙𝐨𝐧𝐞: Growth happens when you challenge yourself. Don't be afraid to face the unknown. Overcoming these challenges boosts your confidence. - 𝐍𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠: Expand your network and grow your support system. The power of a like-minded community can provide a significant confidence boost. - 𝐒𝐞𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐆𝐨𝐚𝐥𝐬: Start with achievable, small goals. When you meet them, it reinforces your belief in your abilities. Gradually increase the complexity of your goals as you gain confidence. - 𝐄𝐦𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩: Seek mentors who can guide you through the intricacies of your industry. Learning from those who have walked the path before you is invaluable. - 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬: Understand that everyone makes mistakes and faces failures. It's a natural part of growth. Learn from your failures, and don't let them define your self-worth. -𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟: Exercise, eat well, and get enough rest. A healthy body and mind contribute to self-assurance. - 𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐩 𝐎𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬: Assisting others in their journey can boost your self-esteem. It's a reminder of your own capabilities and the positive impact you can have. Building self-confidence is a continuous journey. The doubt may still rear its head, but with a foundation of self-confidence, you'll have the resilience to face it head-on.

If you stop through the storms, you will stop through every thing in life. What meaningful turtle step can you take in this moment, that will boost your confidence during uncertain times? In times of uncertainty, we can find it very challenging to maintain our poise and confidence. It can be a challenge to assure ourselves, that "we got this". However, I have learned that by taking turtle steps that are meaningful, I can build self-assurance and reframe my thoughts when I stand in a storm, and facing uncertainty. It's the weekend, and #linkedinfam #LinkedInwomen I want to share six actionable steps you can take today to boost confidence during uncertainty: 1) Set achievable goals: Start with the small bites. Break the overwhelming large goals down into small ones. Focus on the things you know you can achieve and gradually increase them. The bite sizes are what I call Turtle Steps 🐢. 2) Give yourself compassion: This one can be the hardest to do. As women, we tend to fear judgment. But what if you treat yourself with kindness? When facing setbacks, uncertainty and challenges be kind to yourself. Acknowledge how far you've come and the efforts and progress you've made. Self-compassion builds resilience. 3) Leap forward and out of the comfort zone: We can't grow in stagnancy. Challenge yourself to do one small thing, one day at a time. Do one small thing that scares you. The one thing that makes you cry out loud "I am scared, but I am still going to do it". It helps you build on new skills and live through the experiences. 4) Personal growth: This is the path to self-discovery. Focusing on your personal development will help you acquire new skills and learn new things about yourself. Be willing to expand your knowledge by taking on a continuous learning journey. 5) Adapt the Positive Talkaton: You are not crazy when you talk to yourself in a positive way. So practice awareness and monitor your inner dialogue. Challenge yourself to reframe your negative thoughts into positive ones. 6) Seek support where experience is lived: Surround yourself with those who can understand you, and teach you. Be open to welcome feedbacks that are constructive that can help you grow. Seek a community of like-minded where support can bolster your confidence. I guarantee this, when you incorporate these turtle steps into your daily routines, you won't fear uncertainty nor expect validation from others. You will gradually cultivate confidence. Live through the experiences amidst uncertain times. Embrace the process of transformation. Unlocking Your Potential: The Journey of Believing in Yourself Talk to a successful person about their career journey and they will likely tell you that they didn’t succeed until they believed they could. So many of us avoid reaching our goals because we don’t even try. We talk ourselves out of going for it because we are scared of failure. Here are some tips that help me when I’m feeling scared to level up: 1. Self-Reflection: Start by understanding who you are, your strengths, weaknesses, and the unique value you bring to the table. Reflect on your achievements and the obstacles you’ve overcome. This process is foundational in building self-belief. 2. Set Realistic Goals: Goals act as your roadmap. By setting achievable, yet challenging goals, you reinforce your belief in your ability to succeed. Embrace failures as opportunities to learn and grow. Understanding that failure is a part of the journey towards success is crucial in fostering resilience and maintaining belief in yourself. 4. Seek Constructive Feedback: Surround yourself with mentors, peers, and colleagues who can provide constructive feedback. This support network is invaluable in offering perspectives that can help refine your skills, make informed decisions, and strengthen your self-belief. 5.
