Meet the All-New BMW iX3: First of the Neue Klasse

The new, fully electric BMW iX3 is the first series-produced model of the Neue Klasse—ushering in a fresh design language, a new digital experience, and sixth-generation BMW eDrive technology.

Design, distilled

A cleaner, more architectural exterior emphasizes BMW SAV proportions with precise lines, an upright stance, and illuminated kidneys that nod to the historic Neue Klasse while feeling unmistakably modern. Inside, an uncluttered cabin maximizes space and light, with new seats, a redesigned steering wheel and center console, and generous cargo capacity (520–1,750 L, plus a 58 L front compartment).

Sixth-generation eDrive: power, range, efficiency

Launching as the iX3 50 xDrive, dual motors deliver 345 kW (469 hp) and 645 Nm, good for 0–100 km/h in 4.9 s. A new cylindrical-cell high-voltage battery (usable 108.7 kWh) and 800V architecture enable provisional WLTP range up to 805 km (500 miles), alongside major efficiency gains versus prior-gen BMW eDrive. (Official Canadian figures to follow.)

Ultra-fast + flexible charging

At compatible 800V DC stations, iX3 can add up to ~372 km (231 miles) of range in just 10 minutes and charge 10–80% in about 21 minutes. It also supports 400V DC charging and AC charging up to 11 kW (22 kW available). Bidirectional functions (V2L, V2H, and V2G) are designed in, enabling the vehicle to power devices, support home energy, or interact with the grid (availability by production period/market).

Heart of Joy: the new dynamics brain

A high-performance control unit—one of the Neue Klasse “superbrains”—coordinates drivetrain, braking, recuperation, and steering up to ten times faster than conventional systems, elevating agility, smoothness, and efficiency in everyday driving.

Built for a lower footprint

Approximately one-third of the vehicle uses secondary raw materials; key components integrate high recycled content. Energy consumption is reduced versus the prior iX3, and production at BMW Group Plant Debrecen targets fossil-free operation under normal conditions.

What’s next for Canada: Market-specific specs, pricing, and arrival timing will be shared as they’re confirmed. In the meantime, explore our electrified lineup and book an EV test drive at BMW Toronto to experience where the brand is headed.
