LinkedIn expands verification to millions of businesses and key job titles - building a more trusted professional community

At LinkedIn, trust is the foundation of everything we do. It’s what allows professionals to connect, companies to grow, and knowledge to be shared with confidence. Today, we’re taking a major step forward in building a more trusted professional community: We’re expanding company verification and making workplace verification required when a member adds or updates a leadership or recruiter related role. These updates help ensure that the people and organizations you engage with on LinkedIn are who they say they are — strengthening trust across every interaction, whether you're a business building credibility, a recruiter interacting with job seekers, or an executive representing your company.

To help our members and customers build trust and credibility, we are expanding three verification options:

1. Premium Company Page Verification

Until now, Company Page verification was available only to a limited number of organizations and by request. That changes today. We’re increasing access to all companies with a Premium Company Page subscription unlocking access for more businesses.

A verified Premium Company Page helps businesses stand out with confidence. Our recent research found that 85% of business buyers say that trust is critical. Having a verified company Page signals to buyers, prospects, and job seekers that your business is real, credible, and trustworthy.

2. Recruiter Verification

LinkedIn now requires members who add or update recruiter-related titles, such as ‘Recruiter’ or ‘Talent Acquisition Specialist’, to verify their workplace on their profile.

This change helps job-seekers identify legitimate recruiters and avoid scams, while enabling recruiters to build trust in potential candidates from the first interaction.

It comes in addition to Verified recruiter labels which are already available to those with a LinkedIn recruiter license.

3. Executive job title Verification

We’re also introducing workplace verification requirements for high-level titles such as Executive Director, Managing Director, and Vice President. This move is designed to guard against executive impersonation, and to ensure that those in senior roles are able to reflect their company authentically to build and maintain trust and credibility.

By requiring verification for these titles, we’re helping protect the integrity of leadership representation on LinkedIn.

What’s Next

Whether you’re a professional, a global enterprise or a growing startup, verification matters. These new features and changes will further improve authenticity and trust across LinkedIn. We are continuing to work on new ways to expand access, and reach our goal for every member, company and job on LinkedIn to have supporting verifications in the future.

If you’re one of the businesses and professionals this supports, leave a comment about how these new verification tools will help you foster more trustworthy interactions on LinkedIn.

Trust is the currency now 💳 Whether it’s messaging your bank or DM’ing a recruiter, people want to know it’s really you. LinkedIn rolling out verification like this sets the standard — we’re seeing the same mindset drive innovation at Dexatel.

Love this direction, verification isn’t just about security, it’s also about trust at scale. The same principle applies in healthcare vendor credentialing, verified access means safer environments and stronger relationships. Excited to see platforms leaning into trust as infrastructure.

Seems like subscription to Premium makes our page eligible for verification but does not guarantee it. If it is a legitimate page, won't it get verified? If so, can we get our money back? Page verification Purchasing a Premium Company Page subscription makes your Page eligible for verification. But being eligible for verification does not guarantee that your Page will be verified. All verified Pages will receive a verification badge that signals to members that the Page is the official Page of the organization.  https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a7119157

If it is a paid service then doesn't that mean anyone motivated enough can just pay if it gives them more legitimacy with a check mark... like twitter and Facebook where verification if basically anyone who is paying that sweet monthly subscription .... I guess the money is irresistible even to LinkedIn i could be wrong but am I 🤔

How do you make sure that this verification does not lead to bad treatments of your Premium users? Since you do not provide techical solutions that work for everyone and certainly not functional customer support. I went through the steps, signaled to customer support an issue and they just decided to block my account simply telling me that my name is not my name. The name on the Premium bill, btw. Then just told me it was a mistake and nothing can be done for me to do the verification. I would be extremely grateful to receive the appropriate support for the verification. What do I have to do to discuss with a true professional?
