Digital Dynamics Inc. Showcases Local Talent and Semiconductor Innovation During UCSC Engineering Industry Connect
Digital Dynamics Inc. (DDI), a leading employee-owned semiconductor solutions provider based in Scotts Valley, proudly welcomed emerging female engineering students from the University of California, Santa Cruz, for the UCSC Engineering Industry Connect, a half-day immersive experience designed to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry application.
The event brought together a dynamic mix of future engineers, including members of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), for a hands-on introduction to the innovation and collaboration powering today’s high-tech landscape.
Jessyca Hallett, Chief Human Resources Officer, and Jerry Weingord, Senior Vice President of Operations, opened the day by sharing DDI’s mission to deliver smart manufacturing solutions across global industries, from semiconductor equipment to aerospace applications. Their remarks highlighted the company’s strong engineering culture and commitment to real-world problem-solving.
Participants rotated through four live demonstration stations—Software, Hardware, Manufacturing, and Applications Engineering—each led by DDI’s own engineering experts. Students gained first-hand exposure to the tools, technologies, and career paths available in a high-performance semiconductor environment.
"Learning about a role I hadn’t considered before was genuinely exciting," said Christina Chan, a second-year computer engineering student. "Your energy was so refreshing and inspiring—I hope to bring that same enthusiasm when I enter the workforce one day."
The day concluded with a lunch roundtable titled “A Day in Their Shoes,” where students connected with DDI engineers to ask questions, hear personal career stories, and explore what it takes to thrive in the tech industry.
This event is part of DDI’s broader mission to champion early career development and foster a strong pipeline of local engineering talent. Through continued collaboration with UCSC and other local schools, Digital Dynamics aims to inspire the next generation of innovators while investing in the future of the Central Coast’s thriving tech ecosystem.
