Pipe's Luke Voiles discussing the hidden cost of bad data yesterday at Money 20/20. A few key takeaways: - You need human thought. Build AI agents to automate what no longer requires humans so you can free your people to focus - Build technology to speed decisions and create a frictionless experience for your customers - The biggest challenge of his career has been building from 60% automated to 90% automated. Simplicity on the surface takes complexity in the background.

STOP doing work that a machine can do any repetitive tasks you do. costs you hours. And the automation does it in minutes. works 24/7 without asking for a raise. Connect your tools. Conncet the process. you should focus on growth, dont just look busy every time Businesses scale when systems run themselves AI and automation are not optional now.. they are leverage are you really building a system or just working harder?

The Real Depreciating Asset Is Human Capital For centuries, humans were paid based on their contribution to society. You learned a trade, mastered a skill, and your value came from how much your expertise benefited others. Then came AI, and for the first time in history, we’re manufacturing intelligence. The cost of intelligence is rapidly approaching zero. Degrees, technical skills, even cognitive labor all are being commoditized. That sounds terrifying. But maybe it’s also liberating? If intelligence is no longer scarce, then our economic value must come from somewhere else. There’s one thing AI can’t replicate: you. Your taste. Your quirks. Your stories. Your personality. Your humanity. The future economy will reward those who know how to turn who they are, not just what they know, into value. The age of personal capital is coming. Better to start now. https://lnkd.in/gEzhPB-y

AI won’t fix a broken process. It’ll just repeat the same mistakes faster. Many businesses rush to automate before doing the groundwork - mapping processes, spotting gaps, and deciding what actually needs improving. When that groundwork’s skipped, automation doesn’t solve the issues. It scales them. The same errors, duplicated faster, buried deeper. AI can’t fix your processes. The only way to do that is to dig into how your business really works, understand the inefficiencies and bottlenecks, and then add tech. If you’re thinking about new tools or automation, start by reviewing how things run today. We’re always happy to talk through what that could look like. #BespokeSoftware #CustomSystems #DorsetBusiness

𝐃𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭 𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤? Ten years ago, asking if a company used software for day-to-day operations was absurd. Today, asking if a company uses AI for workflow automation sounds just as outdated. 𝐃𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐂𝐑𝐌 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐫? Of course not — the shift from pen and paper to software multiplied productivity by 100. Now we’re at the next leap: from software to GenAI. And the gap isn’t 1 to 100, it’s 1 to 1000. That’s how massive the difference is between teams that adopt AI and those that lag behind. AI isn’t a “nice-to-have.” 𝐀𝐈 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 𝐨𝐟 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤. Those who learn, experiment, and build with it today are shaping what business will look like tomorrow.

Everyone’s busy. But who’s moving forward? The deeper I go into AI and automation, the more I see a pattern: Everyone’s moving fast. But not everyone’s moving forward. It’s easy to get caught up in constant motion - tweaking workflows, testing new tools, chasing updates. I’ve been there too. But motion isn’t momentum. Real momentum comes from systems that build on each other - where each new workflow strengthens the next. That’s what I’ve been focusing on lately: • Building front ends in Loveable • Connecting databases through Airtable • Powering logic with Make.com • Managing back ends in Supabase Each layer adds structure. Each integration adds flow. Together, they create direction. And that’s the difference between movement and momentum. Anyone can stay busy. Few stay aligned. Systems create flow. Flow creates progress. Progress compounds. 👉 What helps you turn motion into momentum - systems, structure, or mindset?

At its core, observability means you can understand what’s happening inside a complex system just by watching its external signals. Honeycomb brought that to software. AI is bringing it to everything else — sales, marketing, finance, ops. If your AI stack can surface real causes, detect weak signals, and explain why outcomes are shifting, that’s observability in its purest form. It’s the glue between reports, KPIs, RACI matrixes...it’s a learning feedback loop between reality and action. And that’s where Baur Software’s Data 360 fits perfectly: connecting every data stream so you can see the system as a whole and just ask it questions. Once you’ve got that, clarity stops being a project. It becomes the default.

Most teams don’t need more tools. They need more truth. The real problem isn’t what you’re running. It’s what you’re running on. Dashboards are lying. Automations are breaking. AI pilots are failing. Not because people are bad. Because systems are blind. Clean data isn’t sexy, but it’s leverage. When your foundation’s aligned, everything speeds up—without more effort. That’s what I study inside The Foundation Layer Technology strategy is business strategy now. The companies that win are the ones who finally treat it that way. Follow along if you’re tired of scaling noise.

Agreed - it takes lots of hard thoughtful work to make something look simple for your customer. I’d say this especially applies in SMB credit - but perhaps everywhere.
