How can manufacturers strengthen #CyberResilience while driving efficiency? This month at Microelectronics UK's Embedded Systems event, Thales experts Dr Kirsty Perrett and Dene Y. will explore #cybersecurity strategies for improved manufacturing efficiency. Their session will look beyond traditional #CyberProtection to ask: ✔️ How can critical processes continue operating safely - even if an attack succeeds? ✔️ Why do IT security approaches often fail in operational technology environments? ✔️ What frameworks and standards can guide more resilient manufacturing systems? 📅 Don’t miss their talk on embedding resilience into the very heart of manufacturing - 12.40pm, 24th September. Happy to share that our paper “ModRTU InjectX: A Command Injection Simulation Tool for Industrial Cybersecurity Research” was presented at ICEST 2025 and is now published with IEEE. In this work, we present ModRTU InjectX, a tool developed as part of our research to simulate command injection attacks on Modbus RTU systems. It enables realistic dataset generation for developing AI-based intrusion detection in industrial environments. Paper (IEEE Xplore): https://lnkd.in/d_VJsTER Tool: https://lnkd.in/d-7SpZbz

The energy industry is entering a new phase where IT, OT, and compliance are converging. As assets become smarter and more connected, cybersecurity alone isn’t enough — reliability and regulatory integrity now share the same perimeter. FAC and CIP are no longer separate worlds; they’re merging into one operational discipline.

As water and wastewater systems become more connected, cybersecurity and reliability are at the forefront of every discussion. The industry needs solutions that not only improve performance but also safeguard critical infrastructure from evolving threats. Danfoss dedicated water drives are built with security in mind—providing encrypted communication, secure firmware, and compliance-ready protections. Combine that with proven reliability in harsh environments, and you have a solution engineered for the realities of today’s water networks. Cybersecurity isn’t optional—it’s essential. Visit booth 357 at WEFTEC in Chicago to see how we combine energy efficiency, reliability, and security in one intelligent solution. Can’t make it? 🔐 Modernization: stop OT Cyber threats before they stop you Cyberattacks on operational technology are accelerating and legacy control systems are the easiest target. With 90% of major energy companies reporting breaches and attacks on U.S. utilities up 70%, the question isn’t if or when but how many times and how many different ways malactors are going to succeed. Modernizing control systems is your strongest defense. In his latest article for Automation.com, Charles Bennett Global Head of Service - Energy Industry Service, explains why modernization of outdated OT is critical. @Volker Jung, ABB’s Global Head of Modernization, emphasizes a proven approach: stepwise modernization during planned downtime while closing security gaps. Don’t wait for a breach to force your hand. Read the article here: https://bit.ly/4ndsSD7 #ABBenergyIndustries
