The Strategy, created by the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Acquisition & Sustainment, outlines the new Warfighting Acquisition System (WAS) that aims to rapidly transform "our antiquated acquisition processes and revitalizing the atrophied Defense Industrial Base (DIB) by prioritizing speed, flexibility, and rigorous execution." The document states that this transformation is necessary to ensure the American warfighter has the capabilities required "to deter and, if necessary, defeat our adversaries." For commercial SSA companies, this is a welcomed strategy as the rapid integration of commercial capabilities is critical for the U.S. Government to keep pace with the growth and evolution of adversarial threats in space.
