In HR, we talk a lot about policies, performance, and process — but none of it works without trust. Trust is what allows employees to share concerns before they become problems. It’s what gives leaders confidence that HR is a true partner, not a compliance checkpoint. And it’s what keeps cultures strong through change, uncertainty, and growth. As HR professionals, our credibility is earned one conversation at a time. It’s built when we follow through, when we listen before we decide, and when we’re transparent even when the answers aren’t easy. In a world driven by data and technology, trust remains the most human advantage we have.

Your mobility program is probably sitting in HR's hands when it should be in your managers' hands. In our latest research report, we found out that HR professionals are twice as confident about mobility systems as regular employees. However, employees don't go to HR when they're thinking about their next move. They go to their manager. And most managers have no idea how to help. They don't know: - What skills actually matter for other roles - Which teams have openings - Who's successfully made a move they could point to So when an employee asks "what's next for me here?" the manager just shrugs and says something vague about growth opportunities. That employee starts looking externally within a month. The fix isn't more HR programs. It's giving managers the tools to actually have the conversation. Show them where the open roles are. Give them a cheat sheet of what skills matter. Hand them 2-3 real stories of people who moved from similar positions.
