✈️ Klarna and Lufthansa Group are teaming up to bring flexible payments to travelers across Europe and the U.S. 🚀 From November, Lufthansa customers in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland and the United States can choose Klarna at checkout for travel experiences. 🌍 The new agreement is facilitated by Klarna’s integration with Adyen — powering a smooth, global checkout experience. love this! 🛩️💞
Amazing! 🚀
Very cool!
The expansion into aviation is the ultimate stress test for flexible payments. Travel is a high anxiety purchase with a massive cart value. In growth product design, we know that for high ticket items the biggest friction isn't the price itself but the timing of the cash flow. Klarna effectively acts as a conversion engine by aligning the cost with the traveler's income stream rather than demanding a lump sum. The integration via Adyen is the strategic unlock here. It allows Lufthansa to scale this flexibility across 10 markets without accumulating massive technical debt. I'm curious if airline product teams see flexible payments as the primary catalyst for base ticket conversion or if the real win is unlocking higher spend on ancillary upgrades like business class.
