India has more than 1,100 incubators - but only 10% of them support 98% of all incubated startups. Today's edition of Campus Charcha breaks down a 2024 study by NSRCEL (Indian Institute of Management Bangalore) and Centre for Research on Start-Ups and Risk Financing (CREST) (Indian Institute of Technology, Madras) that maps the entire incubator ecosystem across the country. The findings reveal some striking patterns - 🔹 Nearly half of all incubators are concentrated in South India 🔹 Different incubator hub cities like Chennai and Bangalore foster very different incubation philosophies 🔹 Deep-tech founders rely on incubation at much higher rates 🔹 And while incubation can improve funding odds, the impact varies dramatically by quality and geography For student founders evaluating whether to apply - and which incubators truly move the needle - this analysis offers meaningful clarity without giving away the full depth of the report. 👇 Read the latest Campus Charcha (Link in comments) Know a student or recent graduate building something ambitious? This edition may help them choose the right path.
