FreshDirect’s Post

Recently, our team had the privilege of participating in a food packing event at City Harvest, New York City's largest food rescue organization. Employees from various departments came together to make a tangible impact on food insecurity in our city. During this event, we packed enough oranges to supply over 3,000 families, ensuring that nutritious produce reached families in need across the five boroughs. This initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to support City Harvest's mission of rescuing food and delivering it to those who need it most. Since 2003, FreshDirect has donated more than 24 million pounds of food to City Harvest, making us the third-largest donor in New York. Volunteering alongside our colleagues was a reminder of the power of community and the difference we can make when we come together. As a company headquartered in The Bronx, with the majority of our employees living in the five boroughs, we are deeply rooted in the neighborhoods we serve. Thank you to City Harvest for organizing this impactful event and to our incredible team for their dedication and hard work. Thank you to Fatoumata Barry, Lauren Moore Jangl, and Sarah Yearwood for coordinating the event and the amazing happy hour at @L'Wren.
