Here’s a look at our latest demonstration videos showcasing electro-steering of water droplets with exceptional control and repeatability. 💧 Setup Highlights: • Droplet diameter: 75 µm (tap water) • Deflector plate size: 22 × 22 mm • Vertical gap: 25 mm and 15 mm 🎥 Demonstration Overview: 1️⃣ Triangle Pattern - 1000 Droplets. For visual clarity, the droplet ejection is slowed to 5 ms per spot, illustrating precise pattern control. 2️⃣ High-Speed Printing Operating at 2 kHz, droplets are steered into 91 spots in a hexagonal spiral pattern - 10 drops per location. 3️⃣ High-Density Deposition At 1 kHz, 200 drops are deposited per location across 37 spiral points. 4️⃣ Wide-Area Patterning With a 0.5 kHz droplet rate, 30 drops are placed at each of 169 locations, again in a hexagonal spiral layout. With ASICs getting larger and PCBs thicker, we're seeing more and more BGA warpage and HiP issues. Often, solder appears to be completely missing even though SPI results look good — a sign that warpage occurs during reflow, not during paste printing. To address this, controlling ΔT, nitrogen levels, moisture, and using special BGA fixtures are key 🧱 Pad design and substrate structure play a huge role too. 🚀 Image Source: K.
