We’re thrilled to have been a part of the ‘Threads of Tradition’ workshop during this year’s Culture Days — recipient of the Spotlight Award for Best Collaborative Program! In a region-wide collaboration, the Municipalities of Halton, the Art Gallery of Burlington and Halton Region Heritage Services hosted artist Rafia Shafiq for an immersive Phulkari embroidery workshop. Participants learned traditional motifs and stitched their own take-home creations, guided by Rafia, founder of Dhaga Art and a passionate advocate for preserving this vibrant textile tradition.
