Supported by CHANEL, “Nouvelle Vague”, the latest film by director Richard Linklater recreates the atmosphere on the set of Jean-Luc Godard’s film “Breathless”, the founding film of the French Nouvelle Vague and landmark in the history of cinema. Reaffirming its close ties with film, CHANEL is proud to have created several silhouettes for the character of Jean Seberg, played by Zoey Deutch. CHANEL also provided accessories, Jewellery pieces and contributed to the actress’ make-up looks. The film is currently showing in cinemas in France and the United States. This is what I admire about CHANEL — their ability to merge aesthetic awareness with cultural memory. It’s never just about costumes, makeup, or jewelry. It’s about reconstructing the spirit of an era, about reviving the emotions that once shaped the language of cinema. “Nouvelle Vague” isn’t just a film movement — it’s a state of mind. CHANEL has long understood that true luxury isn’t a product, but the resonance of meaning a brand can evoke in a single frame. This is no longer advertising. It’s the memory of style, captured in motion. #DarkarSinoe #SyntheticSoulsStudio #EmotionArchitecture #Human360 #LuxuryStorytelling

Stunning collaboration but here’s the thought that stirs debate: when luxury fashion brands step so deeply into cinema, does it elevate art or commercialize it? CHANEL’s legacy with film is undeniable, yet the line between creative partnership and brand storytelling keeps blurring. Are we watching a movie… or a masterclass in marketing? Maybe the real “nouvelle vague” today isn’t cinematic as it’s corporate.

For rich of personality ♣️🔥

A perfect example of CHANEL’s long-standing commitment to film and the arts — blending elegance, character, and cultural heritage. Fashion, after all, is also a form of storytelling. 💫

A beautiful tribute to cinematic artistry and timeless elegance. 🎬✨ CHANEL’s role in honoring Jean Seberg’s iconic style through costume, accessories, and beauty is a powerful reminder of how fashion and storytelling intertwine. At Choebe, we’re always inspired by such collaborations where design meets cultural legacy. Congratulations to the teams behind Nouvelle Vague for bringing this vision to life!
