Focus: You can only be in the business your OSS/BSS allows you to be in. In a rapidly changing landscape, continuous evolution is essential. Proud to share our latest paper:   “IAB vs. RIS: Performance-Cost Tradeoffs in 5G/6G Systems with Multicast and Unicast Traffic in Roadside Deployments”   📄 Published by Olga Chukhno, Dmitri Moltchanov, Gianluca Brancati, Sara Pizzi, Antonella Molinaro, and Giuseppe Araniti    ➡ Which technology better balances cost and performance — Integrated Access and Backhaul (IAB) or Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (RIS)? Our work compares IAB and RIS for next-generation roadside deployments carrying mixed multicast and unicast traffic. We developed two optimization frameworks to evaluate: - 📶 Resource usage - 💰 Deployment cost and scalability - 🔄 Trade-offs in sparse vs. dense network scenarios     💡 Key insights: - IAB provides up to 50% better resource utilization in sparse deployments. - RIS exhibits up to 3× higher scalability and resource efficiency in dense environments — at a lower cost.      Both technologies show strong potential — but for different network conditions.   This study offers practical guidelines for operators and researchers planning cost-efficient 6G densification strategies. 📘 Read the full paper here: https://lnkd.in/dk4gRJgc   #6G #5G #RIS #IAB #multicast #resourceAllocation
