Could the U.S. tariff decision reshape North American CRE? The U.S. Supreme Court is reviewing whether tariffs under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) were lawful - a decision with potential ripple effects. Mark E. Rose said, “Current tariff policies have created confusion, pricing uncertainty, and whipsawed buyers, sellers, owners, developers, and occupiers. If the U.S. Supreme Court upholds the use of the IEEPA to impose tariffs, it could reshape global trade dynamics and impact commercial real estate.” Industrial and logistics may benefit from reshoring, while retail and office could face higher costs. A tariff rollback could restore stability, ease supply chains, and reinvigorate investment. In times like this, clarity, and trusted guidance matter.
