Michael Hua’s Post

At Helion, we do fusion every day. And we know because we detect neutrons, a fusion product. Read more about the neutron diagnostic suite we have deployed for Polaris in this blog post! https://lnkd.in/g_yfMdkk

Cool! Of course when you get close to break even you'll generate over 10^20 neutrons per second. I hope your diagnostics survive to tell us :-) It will certainly kill scintillation counters that will give nice signals at around one million neutrons per second. My guess is that calorimetry will work best at those fluxes. Just measure how fast some materials increase in temperature under intense neutron flux.

Michael Hua thanks for sharing! Do you plan to use any microwave diagnostics? If so, I'd like to discuss or make a proposal via Hercules.

I love it when fusion companies make neutrons! Keep up the great work

Thanks for the quick write up on neutron detectors Michael Hua!
