- [Instructor] The automatic spell checker is a pretty essential tool but sometimes there are words that you don't want the spell checker to mark for you. This video will show you how to take control of the spell checker specifically for Mac users. And to start, this word has a red underline, which means that Microsoft Word thinks it is a spelling mistake but in this case, it's not really a spelling mistake, it's just a word the computer doesn't know. So to fix this, you could right-click on a word like this, and simply choose, add to dictionary. So now it has learned that word. It's no longer marked as a spelling mistake, and in the future when I type it, Microsoft Word will always remember it, but let's take a closer look at that dictionary. To do that, we'll go to the menu up at the top, and the main Word menu we'll go to preferences, then to spelling and grammar, and we're looking for the dictionary's…
