- In the face of uncertain economies, emerging technology, and changing career paths, it's easy to be overwhelmed with anxiety. The human mind craves certainty, and things are generally quite uncertain right now. If you're faced with some ambiguity or a potential challenge, your brain will naturally latch on to the potential downside of that situation without you having to even prompt it. From an evolutionary perspective, we're hardwired to avoid risk, but it's nearly impossible to think strategically and problem-solve effectively when you are sitting in fear. Knowing the risk is important, but you can't let your brain stay there. That's why you have to force yourself to articulate the potential upside, even if it's not as significant as the potential challenge, and even if it's not guaranteed.
