The key stages of a team coaching assignment

- There's a pattern to an effective team coaching engagement. Getting it right is the difference between an intervention that gets high results and one that doesn't. In this video, we're going to look at the first stage, discovery, and why it's important to do it thoroughly. Sometimes team coaching opportunities arise from coaching a team leader one-to-one. At other times, the sponsor's involved. Either way, it's critical to invest time upfront in understanding the team and its environment so that we can help the team to understand itself. So we do this in several ways. First, we interview everybody on the team. We're curious about their experience of being in this team. For example, the level of psychological safety that they feel. We're also curious about the team's perspective on how it fits into and relates to the wider organization and beyond. And of course, we interview some key stakeholders. We might also attend a team meeting or two to observe how the team interact together…
