Trim and Extend and Combine
- [Instructor] There are various trimming options that we can use and just to make sure you understand what NX means by trim, technically an area like this is a trim. When surfaces extend past each other but also if you have a gap. That is also a trim. Okay, so when they refer to trim it means trim back or trim forward. There's a tool that I like to use, it's called trim and extend. And in this case, I can use what's called until selected, so if I have a condition where I have a gap like this, I'm gonna pick the face or edge and that's the key, face or edge. I have an edge that I want extending out. So I'm gonna pick that edge and what do I want it to go to? This surface, so I just pick that surface and you'll notice that it trims or in this case, extend that surface up to what I told it to go to. So it forms a nice, tight boundary edge along that surface. So if I, I actually want to form a corner, I can change this and say make a corner. Now you'll notice I get these arrows and the…
