I have used a creative brief for every client I have served, although I have called them Needs Assessments. Semantics aside, this is a very thoughtful presentation and not only served to affirm my usage of creative briefs, but gave me additional insights that I will be incorporating into my own briefs. Furthermore, the lectures reveal the value of getting the information up front to make the back end work more effective and productive. By formalizing the creative brief you can truly avoid issues that might crop up otherwise. Communication will always be the most effective way to create a deliverable that meets and exceeds your clients expectations. By giving the client a role in your creative brief the project becomes a shared responsibility, a partnership that combines their DNA with your creativity. This series is a good tool for beginners and experienced designers alike.
