Adding a receptacle symbol
- [Instructor] So the trick in this video is to make this receptacle look like a typical symbol and plan and make it look realistic in 3D and elevation. This seems simple, right? Well, there's a couple tricks here, but essentially, we're going to make a new annotation symbol family and load it into our receptacle family, then we're going to test it out in a project. Okay, so in Revit, under Families, go New. This time, go to Annotations, find Generic Annotation, then click Open. Now in the Properties panel, go to the Family Category and Parameters. Keep it as generic annotation, but make sure you rotate it with component and, of course, keep the text readable, again, I don't know why you wouldn't want to do that. Click OK. Zoom in on this little red note. It says to do what we just did, now it basically says to delete the thing. So select it and click Delete. Okay, now notice that there's no scale, so we can't really mess with that. And think about it, this is an annotation symbol, so…
