Let's take a look at some more connections. The first thing I'd like to add is a base plate. Now the really good thing about this new functionality is the fact that these connections know what they're actually connecting. So it's going to cut the beam back and everything. So that means if your beam or column changes size or shape, so will the base plate. So let's do it. In Revit under Models, let's go Open. Browse to chapter 13 and let's grab structural 13-02 click open. Let's go to a 3D view if you're not in one already. I'm going to zoom into this bottom column here. I want to put a base plate on this bad boy so if you select this column hold down the control key and select your concrete column. Let's go to the steel tab click connection. Let's click the drop down here the cool thing is it kinda narrows it down to the types of connections we'd want here so we'll just grab a simple base plate.
