Using Liquify to reshape an image
An easy way to reshape an object is to use the liquify filter. In this image, I want to distort the clock, but not the background. So it's going to be easier if I select the clock and then copy it to its own layer. I'll choose the elliptical marquee tool and just drag a large selection around the clock, making sure that I also grab the reflection. If I need to change my point of origin, I can hold down the space bar, reposition this, and then drag it out a little bit larger. All right, I want to copy this to its own layer, so I'll choose Layer, New, and then Layer via Copy. We'll go ahead and double-click and call this Clock. And then I want to convert it to a Smart Object so that when I add Liquify as a filter, it adds it non-destructively. I'll use the Filter menu and choose Convert for Smart Filters, which will convert that into a Smart Object. Then we can choose the Filter menu and then Liquify.
