Using Generative Fill on large documents
When we're working with large files, we may want to use the generative fill technology instead of the crop tool with generative expand. Let's take a look at why. I'm going to tap the C key to select the crop tool and then zoom out using command minus on Mac control minus on Windows. And then I'm going to expand the crop, not only to the left, but also down to the bottom. In fact, I don't want this area here, so we'll just reposition the crop in order to crop that out. So I'm going to be adding a lot of information to this document, which was already 7,038 pixels wide by 3268 pixels high. And the maximum size that the generative fill can currently return is 2,000 by 2,000 pixels. So that means that any information that it returns, it would have to interpolate up. So it would be much better if we do this in segments. So instead of choosing to fill this with generative expand, I'm going to fill it with transparent.
