- [Bonnie] Hi, I'm Bonnie Biafore. In this project tip, I'll explain when it makes sense to track ancillary project costs with cost resources. Then I show you how to do just that. Well, first of all, keep in mind that cost resources don't roll up into earned value fields. But they do show up in project's budget resources. If you don't use earned value, then you want to go with cost resources, that way, you can track your different types of costs. To do that, we're going to create a few different cost resources. So I'm going to go to the View tab and click Resource Sheet in the Resource Views section. Then I'll head down to the first blank cell for resource name, and I'm going to add in three different types of cost resources. So the first one is going to be called travel, I'm going to type that in and press Enter to drop down to the next resource name cell. The next one is going to be training.
