- [Instructor] Hi there. In this lecture, we're going to dive into the world of Azure, Microsoft's powerful cloud platform. This session, "Azure 101" is designed to review the foundational cloud principles and Azure's core technologies. Cloud services are generally broken down to three offerings, infrastructure as a service, or IaaS. Platform as a service or PaaS and serverless computing and each have their own characteristics. First, the reference I've included physical architecture. If this was your own data center, you would be completely responsible for everything from the hardware up. However, once we move to cloud vendors such as Microsoft, they start to take over some of those responsibilities, and as you move up the different layers, they take on more responsibility, leaving you to worry about the applications instead.
