Correcting ghosting in HDR images
- The problem with ghosting and high dynamic range photos is that effectively, parts of the scene are moving around. So what happens is you get different exposures and things won't combine correctly. Maybe it's trees blowing in the wind, or in this case, the lines on the boat or the flag. So if we look at this carefully here, let's maximize this, you could see that the flag was in a few different positions. We can't zoom in to see it as well, but I could tell that that flag looks a little strange, and these lines might have bounced a bit. If we take a look and apply a little bit of deghosting, it'll analyze and clean that up. In fact, we can see the overlays of where it's fixing it. Well, in this case, it's the blowing flag, plus a little bit of strong ripples in the water. As I increase the amount of deghosting, you'll see that it gets more aggressive on the cleanup.
