- [Instructor] Over the years, I found that many people tell me they don't enjoy being audited. They dislike the amount of pre-work, the time, the nature of the questions involved. Most of all, they fear the potential that their flaws can be found and recorded. A couple of decades ago, when I was the Network Manager for the Board of Education, or BOE, now the Department of Education in New York City, I learned that auditors could also surface things that influence senior management to make immediate changes they'd otherwise resist. Legal and regulatory compliance requirements mandated the audit completed at the BOE. It was external. Internal audits are typically driven by a desire to understand the current state, and ensure that organizational objectives are being met. Clause 9.2 is Internal Audit for the AIMS.
