- If there's a change coming, say a large change, like a new initiative or even a merger with another company, in 99% of the cases, it's probably best to accept it and make the best of it. In fact, it's hard to think of a case where it is worth fighting the wave of change. King Cnut when he sat on his throne at the edge of the sea and the tide came in over him, he wasn't trying to hold back the waves as people often think. He was actually showing his people that even he, the mighty king, was not able to hold back the tide. Whatever you say or do, it's coming anyway. A good friend of mine was diagnosed with an incurable fatal disease a few years ago, and he was given eight years to live.
